Timeline:

There was a murder - (I was murdered by Jacoby Marshall)
I used AdminHelp as it wasn't a properly escalated fight.
Asked MPs for help, but no response.
Jacoby Marshall followed me out of medbay after I was revived with a knife, I pulled my knife and we had a knife fight.
I dragged Jacoby's body so it wouldn't be found by the MPs.
Admin tells me hiding his body is griefing, and so AdminHeals Jacoby and gives me a warning for griefing.
MP (accused, Jack Man) finds me, tells me to make amends with Jacoby (the guy who murdered me)
(In character, I decide I'm not apologizing to a private who not only killed me, but put the lives of his fellow soldiers at risk by blowing up the Alamo, so I walk away)
The MP follows me, says NOTHING, and beats me into submission, then drags me to the MP station.
Then, while cuffed and beaten, he just berrates me verbally - says that I committed murder but that he can't prove it??

So the main issue comes from the meta communication.

1 - if that guy was ahealed, he wasn't murdered, and KNOWING that I killed him without being able to prove it can literally only come from metacommunication.
2 - After I was arrested, I tried to tell him that that guy blew up the alamo and killed me in it. HIs response was that I couldn't prove it.
- Why does me being able to prove it matter? It happened first, there was witnesses, it was broadcasted on comms, etc, and he is the main antagonist. So why would an MP be defending this guy like a lawyer? "you cant prove he did it on purpose" he said. But I can prove HE DID IT which should be all that is necessary. You dont shoot your weapon without aiming, you don't get angry and wave your service rifle around, etc. Marines are highly trained to NEVER do this sort of thing on accident.

Long story short - This MP used meta knowledge and metacommunications to put me under his thumb during this run, and he basically "knows everything" while my character can't say anything to convince othewrise. Im essentially in trouble for a crime that was un-committed. I'm totally down with being arrested for murder if there was a murder to be punished for.

After reviewing the logs, I don't feel that the MP acted on OOC knowledge. I understand that in a setting where people can be raised from the dead, murder charges can get a bit tricky, but as far as the MP was concerned, the aheal was no different ICly then being treated successfully in Medbay. I will leave the issue of whether the MPs investigation into Jacoby's actions was sufficient alone for now, as this was covered in your interaction with Jarek, which is pending review.

That said, after reading through, I do feel that the MP was in violation of ML for initially attempting to issue an NJP for a murder charge. MPs have some leeway in overlooking minor crimes, or choosing a lesser charge to match circumstances or severity of the incident- but they still need to be within the range of punishments provided. Because of this, I will be issuing a note for Rule 11: MPs must follow Military Law for Ttoo123.
