Description of the incident: I was an MP, the only one on duty at the time, I went to req to make sure nobody was causing trouble, when i spotted unsecured weapons and explosives on the floor, I asked who they belonged to and when I found out the rocket belonged to Noah Cruz, i ordered them to stow their rockets if they didnt have room to store them, cruz ended up being a snarky cunt towards me, and when i came back to the req line a minute later after I had gotten them to hold their explosives, they threw it on the ground again. I decided I needed to arrest them for failure to follow procedure, and if they apologized I'd take it down to an NJP, when I tried to arrest them in req line, many marines, mostly from charlie squad, defended him by intentionally help shuffling him whenever i would try to grab him to throw him over (keep in mind that normally whenever a marine does the help intent shuffle everyone gives them the stink eye, and it rarely happens more than once or twice usually) so I tried to baton a few that were shuffling him and standing beside him so that I could grab cruz. eventually the entire line joined in making it nigh impossible to arrest cruz, so I decided to flash bang req to try to get cruz out, when Captain Weinstein was incidentally hit by it. He told me to leave cruz alone, and was very mad that I had accidentally flash banged them, even though I was only doing my job and using the tools that had been given to me (I like to think I tried a few options before immediantly resorting to the flashbang). He ordered me to man the checkpoints and I did, even after explaining how cruz was a criminal, who had been resisting arrest and had a mob of marines interfering with an arrest (which if there were more than one MP we might have been able to do something about). A few minutes later he tells me to calm down and that I can return to briefing, which i do, I don't instigate any more conflict with the marines, and i try to put it in the past, when PFC Boris "Icepick" starts the next conflict, throwing shotgun shells at me, then punching me, and running away. A few seconds later I nab his ass, and the entirety of briefing decsends upon me even though he instigated the fight and I was performing a lawful arrest. I decide to drag boris into brig while being chased, and barely make it inside the checkpoint post before properly arrestng him and beginning processing. During processing however, I saw 3 marines entering brig (Voss, Nkolai, and johnny murphy) and I told them that they were commiting a crime and that if they did not disperse and leave then I'd use lethal force. I ended up having to use it when they were starting to hack through boris's cell door (which i was inside.) One of the two squad engineers that had broken in pointed a shotgun at me, at which case I decided that this was no ordinary unga riot, I fought the three to the best of my abilities (looking back I should have used lethal force more liberally to keep them down) when a second MP (god damned if I can't remember his name, but it's not really important to this complaint) We finished fighting the rioters, and began processing them. I had called cap that marines were in brig rioting and that one had pointed a shotgun at me, but he hadn't arrived until well after we had already dealt with the rioters, and I had charged the three with jailbreaking (which is a capital offense with a minimum time of permabrig.) Captain Weinstein then had the gall to say they all needed 5 minute timers, and that I was on thin ice....somehow? I asked them why the incredibly short timers on the three that had broken into brig with intent to use lethal force to break out a lawfully arrested marine, and how that was in any way my fault. Apparantly it was due to the fact that they had been hit by the flashbang at req line, and it had given them the impression that I had purposefully hit them with it, I convinced Cap to raise it, but he still said 10 minutes maximum. I was fuckin furious at the time, had it been a CMP or XO I'd have kicked them out of the brig for saying that, but since it was a whitelisted player, their rank allowed them to do that as Captain. After dealing with the 3 marines (two of them having expressed a desire to kill us MPs, but whatever) they got released and I got ordered to the CIC to get armed for CL escort duty. I had been doing a perfectly fine job arresting, processing, and I didnt see any reason for them to do this rather than perhaps knowing that his marines couldnt be trusted to not instigate more conflict, and instead of disciplining them for that, blaming me instead. To the marines credit, after this was over, they cut their shit and deployed normally, and I didnt have any more issues with them, but this interaction with cap really left a bad taste in my mouth, the logic for giving them 10 minutes didn't make any god damned sense, and it seems he only did that because he was mad at me in particular for using a flashbang in a perfectly justifiable situation, in which he happened to be hit by. What makes me think the latter is that I only got him to extend the brig time by telling him being hit by the flash bang was an accident and it was incidental to my arresting, which pretty much convinced me the only reason he was doing this, was because he was butthurt about it. If he had explained that the marines were vital to the op (two squad engineers and a pfc, and we had several squad engis, so I doubt they could have made a compelling case for it) then maybe I could understand, but it feels like he countermanded marine law just to fuck with me in particular, when I had done nothing wrong. I know nobody wants to get arrested when they roll spec, but I gave cruz multiple warnings, and had he not been such a smarmy cunt about it, I could have overlooked it or helped them out with the equipment regs, but I wasn't going to stand there while he shit talked me for doing my job. I dont have many experiences with Captain Weinstein, but if he lets his emotions cloud his logic for brigging marines, it sounds like a shitty cap who would abuse his powers in other ways for personal or emotional reasons. The three marines commited capital offenses, and had threatened to use lethal force against me after they broke in, that would be enough justification for many captains to consider executions, but to him it was seemingly nothing compared to the heinous sin of using a flashbang to arrest a marine in the middle of a defensive mob.
Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc): I believe Mvp777 was the admin I ahelped about this incident, I didnt think to take screenshots, but I'm guessing they probably have logs of the incident
How you would punish the accused: Show them the importance of marine laws and keep an eye out for needless or frivolous breaks of marine law for seemingly emotional or no reason at all, if they repeat this kind of behavior revoke their whitelist as the only person who can override a lawful arrest is the Captain anyways
