    Tataar

If Other (Minor Clan), Minor Clan Lore
Hailing from the star of Lubbi, the planet of Proteus Prime in the human tongue, the Clan Yataar practices a often overlooked art of the hunt, the one of endurance in the course of the hunt. While the Yautja rarely encounter a foe that can’t be destroyed outright, the act of stalking, tracking of their foes can be long and hard. But that’s not why it’s so important to the Yataar clan. Each member is linked in a unique way, that being, each member of the clan had their first hunt come in way of breaking through the hard embryonic sac. While not failing in the act itself, it took these collected Yautja longer than usual to complete this process. It is through this process that the heart of the clan came to be.

The worship of Nritja is widespread, but not in the way that other Yautja worship the god of confidence and bravery, instead, the Yataar clan asserts that you only gain confidence and bravery as a hunter if you have endured and survived many battles, while this might offend other purists of the faith, the rituals boil down to the same of the other clans.

The process of becoming a member of the Yataar clan is one of two ways. Go through a longer than normal breaking out of an embryonic sac, or take part in an endurance ritual on Proteus Prime. The planet is home to immense, tank-like creatures, so weak and cowardly that the clan has not named them. The walls of the stomach are extremely thick and tough to get out of. The initiate is placed within a captured animal's mouth and is eaten. The Yautja, without any gear or outside assistance is expected to break out of the creature from within. Thus simulating the escape from an embryonic sac. Failure of this ritual results in the hunter's death. The ritual cements the ideals and common experience shared by the other members. This has cut down the amount of honor duels, as each hunter can stand side by side with another knowing that they have had the same experience. Rather by sac or animal, they have had their endurance tested.

The wider Yautja world has found a perfect role for this little clan, in the form of hunts requiring great feats of endurance. One such hunt was for a rich corporate paperpusher who managed to recover some Yautja gear. Being too heavily secured for a single team to recover, the minor and major clans came together. Clan Yataar was given the honor of providing a distraction to the immense presence of armed humans that guarded the complex. The plan was simple: Yataar would pick off the north perimeter guards, and wait for a response. In time, they came. Carrying automatic weapons, personal armor, and a few vehicles. The Yataar clan laided trap after trap for the unwitting humans. Entire groups were ripped apart by the clans' berserkers, the more thoughtful placed traps and hid in the trees. The swarm was relentless, their resolve impressing the clan. In a moment of darkness, the clan leader, Hah-Mithup was hit by an APC autocannon in a cunning surprise attack from a feigned retreat. Heavily wounded, the leader still slew the vehicle and its crew to a single man. The severed heads of the crewmembers are still on display inside clans fortress. Seeing what should have been a killing blow not even slowing down one of these creatures, they started a general rout. The clan roared in defiance, beating the odds. The retreating security forces approached the complex carefully. What they found inside was that the leader was dead. His head had been detached. His safe was blown open. The gear was gone. The clans celebrated a huge feast in honor of the victory.

    Yautja Character Story
Tan'kuiindb-Yataar first moments of the world was through a semi-transparent membrane, his eyes opened for the first time. The room around him had 6 sacs like he was in. He saw as the older Yautja looked at the sacs, the pups looked back at him with a flicker of recognition. Thoughts started to form in Tan’kuiindb’s mind, running on pure instinct he began to tear, shake and attempted to break free of the membrane. He felt the energy in his limbs, with some effort, his arms started to bore holes in the thick sac. He saw his peers start to come to the same thoughts he did. The sacs began to shake and strain under the pup's attempts to open them.

It had been a couple of hours, the pups starting to grow accustomed to the world they now lived in. Already, the progress of the other pups was closer to being free than Tan’kuiindb. His thoughts, even at this primitive stage, were in honor. Did he fail? Did he disgrace himself? His progress so far had his left arm and right arm freed a little more, but his legs still felt sluggish under the weight of the sac.

The light in the room was starting to dim as soon as the first pup broke free. With excited clicks, the pup took their first steps. The efforts began to redouble in the remaining younglings. Tan’kuiindb had managed to get a single leg, and was attempting to free the other, while his hands could move. He looked around, the shadows on the wall playing tricks on the face of the elder Yautja that was watching the progress. Was the ornate mask betraying a look of disgust? By the time he looked to see where the pup went, it was gone.

By the time that the night was over, three more pups had broken free, with a rapid click, the new Yautja took mighty breaths. The last look Tan’kuiindb saw them take was one of confusion, before they disappeared.

The light had returned. Tan’kuiindb was starting to lose hope. The only other pup that shared Tan’kuiindb’s fate had the same look. His movements began to slow, the hunter's mind clouded by fear. The other pup had completely stopped moving. The Elder Yautja who was watching the sacs, clicked once then started to move out of the room. Tan’kuiindb thought he detected a small look, a look of hope and sadness. It took a while. The fear he felt lasted an hour, then he heard something. While he could never be sure, he thought he heard the voice of Nritja. A primorital truth passed from the demigod above to the pup. The sac demands endurance. It’s the mark of confidence, of bravery in the face of adversity. With a renewed sense of purpose, a calm went over the hunter. He focused his efforts, instead of thrashing around, he gradually focused efforts into a limb that was still stuck. Instead of trying to think of an end goal, he chopped the membrane into smaller pieces to remove. He managed to free his arms. With a digging around his thighs, his legs began to work on the membrane in front of him that was keeping him trapped. He was only a few minutes away from breaking free! With a mighty effort, he breached the surface. He rose. Feeling weight in his legs. Feeling the clean air in his lungs. He looked at the other pup, still gripped by fear. He was like him, but now he is not.

He smelt something good, the smells of food and clicking. He decided to surprise the clan with his arrival.

Here are some questions for you

    1) You’re observing a hunter fight a marine after taking some damage the predator moves past you but hasn't left the area the wounded marine (above 70%) mistaking you for the predator its fighting shoots at you what do you do?

    2) The scout specialist keeps on attacking you, then cloaking and running away, just to come back and attack you again. This happens for a while, what would you do in this situation?

    3) It's Solaris pred round, and another pred was killed. You scan for yautja gear, and see that some is in the FOB. You're right outside the FOB and you see a marine holding a combi stick, inside the FOB. What do you do?

    4) What other times can predators truce with humans other than when there is an abomination present?
Now I just feel sorry for the Pred council. Those poor people only get the nut jobs...

    1. As it is not my hunt, and it's not the spirit of the whitelist to just come over and execute random marines for mistaking me for a pred they have engaged. What i can do is stun them, point to the darkness where the other pred went, laugh, then cloak. If the pred runs away from his prey, i would take notice of this and see if he reengages the same marine. If they don't then i would mock their endurance, as someone who is weaker then them made them run. That could open up more RP from the pred in question.

    2. If the scout wants to play games like that, then i would lay a trap. I would get his attention, or set up a hunting trap inside a far away area and wait for him to attack me. I would get him to step on the trap, when he does, i would start shit talking him, saying 'the humans tricks are no match for pure might' then because they are at a disadvantage at being unable to move away, i would put away my melee weapon and engage in punching. If they also started with melee or fists as well then i would keep going. Not giving up in the fight and showing some endurance would not impress, but would make it think that it has been a worthy opponent to get revived. If they decided to start shooting, then i would kill them and hang them up, only after calling them a weakling for using guns, while beating them with fists only.

    3. You aren't allowed to recover the gear within the FOB or other important areas, the name of the game is to stalk your prey. If it's a low pop FOB, perhaps using the preds lesser used human speech emotes like 'over here' would lure them out. If they do not budge, there's not much you can do. Hopefully they get onto the ship where the gear can be recovered or come out so they can be fought. Hopefully a melee duel with said marine to prove that hunter might and endurance will always be better even if the cheap trick of using hunter tech? That would be cool!

    4. The only way i can ever think of is under orders from a Ancient (admin), however, these rounds in seeing preds doing this is never. (maybe i haven't seen pred event rounds because you know, i'm not a pred) Perhaps those who have broken whitelist rules, like obvious, no report needed rules, you could RP having a truce to find that Bad Blood and SD them? Not many people HPC the entire FOB and then decap the CO.

1.Okay answer but mocking the other pred would result in an honour duel.

2.Not a wrong answer but i would have preferred if you just said "I would dispatch them with dishonourable tools because they are dishonourable prey for attacking in cloak"

3.Correct answer preds can only enter the FOB for a body not lose gear

4.Again correct answer preds cannot truce with humans for any other reason except for rule 0

I will give you my plus one when i see more feedback on your app but so far so good.

Hello, I apologize, but the Council has voted that the application is to be denied due to a lack of community support. I recommend continuing to build a positive reputation within the community at large. You can reapply in 30 days.
Usually playing as Darwin 'D.J.' Jefferson, PFC (Private: Flare Carrier), or Smartgunner almost always out of ammo. Occasionally an RO who yearns for death, dealing with rampant jackassery of his coworkers.
Against my better judgement I decided to start making Youtube videos involving Colonial Marines. Channel
