    No.

    Experience

How familiar are you with command positions?
    Familiar.

I know my way around the tools of CIC as well as Squad Leader. I've handled rounds as a solo CIC member and I've handled rounds with a team of CIC staff helping me out without issues.

The overwatch consoles and their functions are all well intergrated into my mind at this point having to use them every other round to fire OB's manage squad leaders yada yada.

I know marine law well enough to pass off as knowledgeable on it and I understand as the CO that ML comes up from time to time.

Approximately how many hours do you have as Executive Officer (XO) at the time of writing this application?
    Executive Officer 31.2 HOURS

Approximately how many hours do you have as Squad Leader at the time of writing this application?
    Squad Leader 9.8 HOURS

    Basic Questions & Story

Why did your character decide to become the CO of a ship?
Jordan saught to become a CO due to the fact that even with all the manpower at his disposal, his position as an executive officer felt stifling in some way or another. He felt like he could do more, and be more for the USCM and it's people.

Not only that, but He had countless operations under his belt, served under several Majors. Learned quite a lot from his time serving in the USCM. Every Major he served under he grew to respect. Most of the lessons he learned as he grew into his role over the years as an Executive officer, he had learned from those very same Majors he respected so much. He aims not only to serve the USCM and be more, but also to mentor and teach those in his command the very same way the Majors he served did for him.

How did your character attain the position of CO?
His actions as an Executive Officer eventually caught the eye of the higher-ups of the USCM. Many successful operations against CLF incursions amongst other things with commendations coming in from officers that worked with him made him a prime target for a promotion.

Provide a short story of your Commanding Officer.

    Scenarios

When do you believe it’s appropriate to pardon a prisoner? Give an example.
I'll pre-face this by saying it doesn't matter how critical someone is to the operation - if they're going to repeat offend (and get me, the CO, in trouble to for pardoning them) and I believe they will repeat offend for any reason, the pardon is never going to happen no matter if they are the last marine alive on the server or the SADAR specialist. Everything said after this assumes that the person will not repeat offend or commit any further crimes for any reason.

If the crime they've commited is minor (Vandalism or something along those lines of petty crime), a pardon is likely to happen. Minor and petty crimes are not something I want to see marines kept in a cell for when they could be out there shooting CLF/Xenos whatever and enjoying their rounds. Of course, this goes out the window if they are for whatever reason not trustworthy - and some scenarios like multiple people offending means that nobody is getting a pardon because I'm not a fan of encouraging behaviour that ends up with half a squad in the brig by pardoning everyone and allowing them to get away scot-free afterwards.

It's hard to see any crime in marine law involving a major law-break that I personally would pardon. I know I have authority to do so as a CO, but for someone to be arrested for a major crime is context-sensitive.

Assault and disordedly conduct and perhaps NOD are the three I could see being pardoned in this scenario - because these are crimes that could concievably be commited by someone as a major crime who isn't just out to cause trouble and may genuinely improve post-pardon.

Others like illegal confinement does include MP's holding people for too longa and thus breaking the Vicarious Prosecution rule (which I may pardon for if it was just an MP being a bit...silly and NOT malicious.) but could also include someone being held hostage just in general; which I'm not pardoning for because if someones taking hostages; they're likely just out to cause trouble.

You get the idea, I hope!

When do you believe it’s appropriate to use a Battlefield Execution? Give an example.
Only as a last resort in most cases as a BE is a sure-fire round removal, and therefore should not be abused.

I'd use it when under active threat or if my subordinates are under active threat. Someone trying their damndest to kill me or someone else on the ship is getting a bullet.

If someone is sabotaging the operation by, say, deconstructing vital fob cades and will not listen to warnings to cease immediately, they'll get a BE as well. Only after a fair amount of warnings as I have said the BE is a tool to be used and not abused and is a round removal in most cases.

In any case I can care to make, if the player is obviously new and/or has no idea what they're actually doing, a BE is off the table for me. Even if I have the authority to. It's not that I couldn't but there's a clear difference between someone who knows their behaviour is bad and is continuing to do it anyway and who knows what a BE actually *is* and someone who joined the server a day ago and is just doing what they're doing because they don't know any better. Of course if what they're doing absolutely cannot continue and there's no time to explain anything then they'll have to deal with the BE like everyone else.

Just to be clear; an active threat means an active danger in my opinion. Someone punching me in the face isn't a threat and I can utilize the MP's instead of blowing them away in that situation. I also understand that if someone is in custody with the MP's then running up to them in cuffs and shooting them dead isn't going to fly either no matter who they are or what they did.

I absolutely loved reading this guy's story. Jarek is an amazing person to play with, work alongside, and to be overall be around. Their SL rounds express their competence the most because Jarek communicates very well with his squad while still fighting on the frontline, which I treasure to be an important characteristic for leaders. I can hear them yelling to me about his squad even while playing Req! Their character stands out a lot and I believe their CO will show a lot of personality. They had the RP for sure and their commanding so far gives me faith they'll do great. +1

Reading through this was a pleasure! I found it well written.
Having played with him as XO before, I'd say hes CO material, though I'd like to see him play XO and SL more.
    Still! +1

Ive been a CO for literal years, despite this I dont often take to whitelist applications to leave feedback unless I truly feel one way or another for the persons application. I can say without a doubt that Jarek will make an outstanding CO, his skills in commanding have been shown and he remains one of the FEW SLs who will actually roleplay, an endearing trait.

Overall, stop debating this app CO council, just accept it. +1

Competent commander and a long-time player. I believe he has the necessary skills to perform well in the CO role.

Played as CO while jarek was XO, and all I had to do was sit back and watch him destroy the xenos with supreme tactical supremacy. He is a long time player who knows the server well, and he fits in with CIC nicely. Can't wait to program my AI XO based on some algorithms I'll be borrowing from his tactical decisions. I can confidently say that I'd be totally fine handling an appeal while jarek was XOing for me, and that has to count for something. He's a staff so he's legally required to know marine law, and I don't doubt that he'll be able to figure out any problems he comes up with, be it Marine law, or the operation itself.

Really not much else to say, but I will anyway. His BE answer is nice, I particularly appreciate the part about not BEing new players (at least not permanently) as we all know we were once in their shoes. He did good with his pardon preface, as we all know that someone who is likely to reoffend ought not to get a pardon so as to not get the CO in trouble. Really my only problem with jarek getting the CO whitelist would be the fact that I don't get to have him as my XO anymore. +2

The times i saw him as XO he was unable to take any responsibility and also unable to take appeals, Doing so very vaguely, barely listening and with almost no intention to RP in general, wich i think its important for a CO, just going for the safest option and denying them to evade any problems or responsibility and go sit back in cic. Besides that he is alright at handling cic, tho i would like to see him more as XO, aswell as improving his knowledge about the ML and actually taking responsibility as captain. -1

I honestly don't have any problems with Jarek as CO.

Admittedly, the majority of my exposure to him was mainly me as groundside roles, but even then, I didn't notice bad on my end, he does his role well. On the few occasions i've CO'ed/SO'd for him, he does well and keeps orders and communications as clean and direct as possible. I don't have much else to add other than COing with him more often as the application process goes.

My only constructive feedback that i've gathered OOCly is that Jarek needs more exposure to appeals. CO pardoning is an incredibly powerful tool that will be utilized one way or another, and learning to handle appeals helps foster a general good sense of usage for Pardons.

    Other than that, +1!
