Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc). If you were in the wrong, explain what you did that was wrong, and describe how you have or will improve your behavior. As part of Ito's event where he had a few people "go schizo" I started saying the CIA Frankenstein Controls copypasta as my last words during my execution. When I said the first line of the copypasta I was very careful to censor the N word that I saw in it (removed it from the copypasta). However after saying this line the MP's began to strip my headset, which is a violation of ML as the condemned must be given two minutes total over radio for their last words even if their radio was taken for abuse. So I quickly rushed to post the second line of it and didn't notice that it has an N-word like word in it (Niger). Even though this is not actually the N word I would have removed it from the copypasta if I had noticed it out of an abundance of caution as people might interpret it as bigoted, however, as a result of the MP's breaking ML to speed my execution up by a minute there was time pressure to copy it over and I didn't notice it.
Moonshanks then gave me a 30 day ban for this.
In my opinion by either the spirit or letter of the rules this ban is unjustified.
The spirit of the rule is, as stated in the CM Wiki Rules section: "Racism, the use of slurs and other targeting terms or phrases is strictly forbidden and will not be tolerated. Being Homophobic, Sexist or a general bigot is not ok, and action will be taken to rectify such behaviour."
As I was copy pasting the stated phrase as part of my act of "being schizo" as part of the event, I don't think the spirit of the rule is against what I did. The slur-like word was included purely by accident and thus doesn't represent my character in "being homophobic, sexist, or a general bigot". Furthermore I very deliberately censored the usage of the N word in the first line of the copypasta when I noticed it, indicating an attempt to follow the rules as best possible.
Now, if we want to be strict about the letter of the rules, to be honest I'm not even sure where the exact thing is written in its entirety, if it even is. But I'm pretty sure that the country name "Niger"(single G), which, was the stated word in the copypasta, is not, by the letter of the rules, a racial slur or otherwise forbidden from being said.
Now if someone just ran around calling people "Niger" it would be obvious that they were violating the spirit of the rules against bigotry because they obviously intended to be bigoted by using an N-word like word. But this clearly doesn't apply in my case as the intent to be bigoted is not there, it's totally contradicted by the fact that I tried to censor all N-word like words in the copypasta.
Therefore I believe that by any standard I have not violated the rules by stating "THE BRAZEN, DEADLY GANGSTER POLICE AND N***R PUPPET UNDERLINGS SPRAY ME WITH POISON NERVE GAS from AUTOMOBILE EXHAUSTS AND EVEN LAWN MOWERS" as part of a greater copypasta which, to be clear, was part of my participation in a larger event, I wasn't just spamming copypastas randomly.
