    Description of the incident
I got noted for using MP gear in HvH.

I had no clue that in HvH MP gear is not allowed. That's not anywhere on the rules page. Additionally, saying that just because i was a former DEV member I'm supposed to be perfectly up to date on all the rules is bullshit. This is using my developer status against me.

Why am I being punished for someone else's mistake? Why am I not allowed to use the gear that is, as it shows, 3 tiles outside of my spawn? Why am I, as a former developer supposed to know about this magical, invisible rule that's stated nowhere in the rules page? Why am I being punished for not knowing it? If I see gear in my prep, why can't I use it??????? What the fuck is this bullshit?

Why am I being assumed guilty? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Just because I'm retired staff? What? Am I not allowed to not know things anymore? Why am I being held up to developer standards as a non-developer?

@indomitable human spirit has been playing for even longer than me and not even he knew about the rule. It was almost magically made up on the spot to find an excuse to note me.

This is frankly appalling and an insult.

    PM logs.

The note. Note how it has no context for the mapper's oversight or for the vendor being next to me, it's just left with no context leaving readers to assume the worst possible.

Proof the SecTech vendor was right next to me. (Top right)

Cannot link to the thread directly, but it is the first closed post.

The reason the rules in the policy feedback forum exist is that the forum is meant to foster positive discussions that improve either knowledge of a scenario or the game overall.

Despite the fact that they were ever so slightly breached, active and beneficial conversation and arguments were happening in that thread, with admins, moderators, mentors, whitelisted, players, and the host himself chiming in and elaborating on what everyone agreed was a flaw in CM.

Forest came in, saw that a rule was broken, and inmediately closed the thread in the midst of conversation.

This is against the spirit of the rules - they are meant to foster positive talking with the community and said positive talking was cut entirely short because of strict adherence to the letter of the law instead of its spirit.

A 'staff report' is somewhere players cannot chime in, cannot contribute, cannot positively help towards the improvement of CM as that is entirely a staff affair - there was, effectively speaking, no reason to disable the thread and say to move it to a staff report because that fails at almost everything the policy thread was doing.

Not to mention how it being randomly and suddenly closed, again after the host gave his tacit approval on its existence, is a complete slap in the face to the entire community and everyone involved in that thread - even if the rules were followed it is impossible to view such an act as anything but extremely rude which is exactly what we're supposedly trying to avoid - further dividing staff and community.

This is not a double report against Forest or whatever, but I felt this needed to be said somewhere official and this is the closest place for it after the policy thread was deflected here.
Do you understand that staff make the final decision in the resolution of this report?
    Yes

I've looked into this awhile ago but got sidetracked with IRL shit - I'll be resolving this and removing the note. We require people to read our rules before playing and say ignorance is not an excuse - but that is really only for the Rules Page and the Rule Clarification page. This rule was on neither, and after discussion with Management and Head Staff, we've decided that in order to be more clear, Staff should put any special rules for an event in a Custom Event Text message.
