Squad preferences
So i'm pretty new to CM, and i wanted to choose a squad to stick with, and so, i want to know how are the squads, like what are your view about each squad.
so far i got this idea from the community memes but not sure about how true to life it is
Squad-performance/cohesion-stereotype
Alpha-Average/NotGood- Frontline, randoms (red menace)
Bravo-Average/VeryGood- Tcomms and engi, chill, (Fobbits)
Charlie-Really good or really bad never in the middle/Good- Tank, scout, supporting (Grapes??)
Delta-VeryBad/a bit- know for being bad, once in a lifetime they did awesome and saved the round (Deltards)
so i know i'm being very negative and thats why i made this post i want to see what you guys like in each squad and what makes you set it as your preference

Charlie tends to more focused towards having fun with things, whereas Delta tends to be where all the people who try super hard, and so either can be fun, depending on what you want out of a particular round. My mood tends to influence which one I go, but that's just me.

Charlie represents what every squad would be if all squads were randomized, a group with wildly varying skills levels but mostly get along due to lack of cliques and can work together towards any goal due to wide skill sets among players.

Do you like crushing xenos under your boot? Do you like shooting your own squad mate in the back with buckshot? If you live longer than 10 minutes do you get anxious? If you answered yes to all of these then Delta squad is for you.

Should include 'no preference', but Charlie is a close second.
Usually not horribly incompetent, if not always outstanding.

Looks like Charlie is the move active on the forums. Born and Raised a Delta going back to 2016, back when no Delta wore a helmet and only the SL got in trouble for it. Good times.

Bravo are probably your best squad to stick with at first to learn the basics, as they usually get FOB duty so you can take time to figure things out. Charlie's probably your next best bet to learn teamwork, as Charlie tend to stick together and grab each other when they go down.

Alpha: Mediocre squad. Very average, but a few standouts occasionally. Normally has scouting duty in the direction of the hive. More a road stop till the other squads can get their act together. The difference between it and Charlie tends to be that Alpha is more just plain average, which its necessarily bad, but won't keep you alive in the current Xeno favored meta. Still, people enjoy it and its not a bad squad necessary, but more of a tool which COs can't always use.
Bravo: FOB Squad. Interchangeable with Alpha depending on who gets FOB, but normally more robust. Standout role: Specialist and Engineers In my (admittedly anecdotal) experience, Bravo normally has really good engineers and Specialists due to them being often assigned FOB duty. Not a bad choice to learn with.
Charlie: Charlie Gang. Can get whatever the CO feels like. Most people who play Charlie are one of two people: 1. A jack of all trades who, while not a standout per say, can play any role well due to setting all preferences on medium. 2: Master of one: This person has the same roll on high every round, and cyros if they don't get it. Examples include: Engineers who know how to place barricades, Medics who ask the doctors to make them meds, and Specialists who get kits that work together. Standout roll: Specialists and SLs: Because many people in delta either main a role or have experience in all of them, they typically know how to work together, and make charlie better. Also my squad. A good choice, plus playing Alpha/Bravo is like having discord on light theme.
Delta: MRE Menu #23, Crayons. I'm not knocking on most delta mains, but when something goes wrong, it always seems to link back somehow to Delta. They can get anything under the sun, but seem to be getting hydro defense duty more often than not. While they "selflessly" sacrifice themselves on the battlefields, once every blue moon, when the adminbus gives its blessing, Delta is the most deadly squad hands down. I've seen single marines from the squad crit the queen. Not for new players.

It only depends on what color you like. Whatever your orders are, you can always ignore them.
