Man, I like your application, I absolutely do, and I appreciate the answer you gave to my query, but I think we would be setting a bad precedent if we accepted your application at this point. My recommendation, make yourself known in the community and reapply again.

Whitelist roles have considerable influence on a round's progression. Applications are a part of the extensive vetting process that people must go through to be recognized as a player decent enough to get a whitelist. The main focus is on your personal reputation, however, simply because an application where you can talk all sorts of shit about how you're a great player who loves RP doesn't compare to playing a round of CM where you can do everything you claim to be.

VossAldrich, while new, wasn't completely unknown. Some people knew who he was and confirmed he was a respectable player. With AchilliesWolf's current playtime, I don't think a single person could come onto the forums and vouch for their competency at the release of this application.

I'm unwilling to accept a player who may not have a single clue what they're doing.

Achillies, your application isn't that bad. It's pretty solid. It's definitely a grade higher than shit most people put out and I can respect the amount of effort put into it, but the complete lack of reputation really hurts. If you do end up getting denied, you should check with the council to see if you can just reuse the same application- after you make yourself known- because it'd be a pain in the ass to have to redo this app.

Redoing the application would be a pain, but if you gotta, you gotta. I'll be sure to check it out within a month's time. Thanks for the compliment.

Suggestions for becoming more known? Since I know I've been playing a ton out of Staff Officer, but that could easily be why no one sees me... I take it I should play a marine for a time?

Playing SO won't prepare you for pred,
You not only need to become known, you also need to get a good grasp of game mechanics/combat.

You'll struggle a lot if you get accepted.

Play SL, RO, Medic or SO, all of these roles force you to heavily interact with players and allows you to form relationships and bonds.

SL, Medic, Specialist (if you don't instantly die), RO, CMO, and XO tend to be high visibility roles. Shipside is way easier to do RP on but you'll get extra brownie points if you can maintain good RP while fighting planetside

Competency isn't mandatory but deadass, like Avalanche was saying, if you're not at least decent at the game, you're probably going to get frustrated playing predator. You're going to get chased around by goonsquads full of veteran pred hunting robustos that have been playing CM for years, and if your combat skill ain't up to par, then you're pretty likely to get demolished consistently.

PFC is good for learning combat and will also help you learn game flow so you can better understand how influential your decisions may be in a round when you become predator. You won't get a whole lot of immediate recognition unless you play a hyper-talkative PFC with a unique gimmick like Wamakahana Windhealer or Katashi Juro or you're an unkillable hero that can get marine majors with your pure skill, though.

Alright, everyone has pretty much already put the reality of the unknown down. So I'm not going to play parrot.

It was a good app and story, but with issues arriving within pred players who have longer time on the server than you I am going to have to -1

I apologise and look forward to seeing the app up again with some more time played and community support.

Alright. Slowly but surely increasing my playing time. If this application is denied (highest probable outcome) then by the time of the next...should be good. Yet the wait's always the hastle.

Seeing that its -3 council votes. I agree with Overlord, unfortunately you had a decent application.
Do what you're doing at the moment, try again in 30 days, and make another application that's good.

Put the same effort and make your predator a bit more unique, and you should get it.
