Abusing your power

Description of the incident

I was warned and then banned after telling an underage user not to bring up certain topics while a user who shows interest in fictional children is present in the community. I was told that by saying this I was harassing another member which concerns me because there are numerous children present in this community. I feel that this punishment singled me out even after the topic progressed where no name was being mentioned. I feel slightly disheartened that I can be freely called a tranny within this community, which you'll notice is very targeted, but any time I mention a fact about another user I am being told that it is harassment.

I've been told that because what he likes is outside of the community it isn't the staffs problem to deal with, but hasn't the accused member already posted porn on one occasion before? It just seems unfair that he has broken rules and when he is called out by other community members he reports it to staff and claims its harassment and the punishments given out seem to escalate quickly.

I don't have any screenshots from the discord itself because of how quickly I was banned, but I do have some from a private conversation with Sargash if any managers would like to see them.

The incident resulting in your ban was because multiple backhanded and coy methods of harassing and insulting someone was used, in a row. I let a few slide.

Let me be straight. I don't care if you don't name the person, or what you say your insults/ harassment was. You arent going to get away with it by simply having 'no name being mentioned.' As for the other but where people are harassing you, I'm already looking into that now as it was never brought to my attention before now.

It appears to me that this was not a case of an abuse of power.

You were clearly making remarks about someone in the discord and while true you did not state the name of the person whom you were talking about before you got the ban, people knew who you were talking about. I had three people pm me after this happened trying to defend you and each of them stated the name of the person that you were indeed talking about. I say indeed because later you mention them by name after your ban. You knew who you were talking about. Everyone who saw what you said knew who you were talking about. Not specifically naming them doesn't matter in this instance.

Sargash told you to cease this behavior, you did not. As a result he took action against you. That is exactly how discord staff are (generally) tasked with dealing with issues (ask people to cease rule breaking behavior, then take action if they don't). Was the action he took harsh? Maybe; but in this instance, you landed 2 warnings, a warning tag, and a kick already for the exact same behavior not even a week ago. This is certainly is not an abuse of power as discord mods are given discretion to determine the severity of the incidents they deal with and what kind of response it merits, and bans are within the scope of that discretion, especially after warnings and kicks have been applied for the behavior in question.

If you think your punishment was too harsh, that's what the appeals section is for.
If your complaint is that you received some kind of unequal treatment, I would remind you that we're not a courthouse and the nature of volunteer discretion means that different staff will come to different conclusions about the severity of an incident and the response required.
If your complaint is that the person you were calling out is a member of the discord and can play space station 13, that's something not in your discretion to change, and you haven't the right to try to chase them out. If you think they've committed a crime somewhere else in the world, or are a danger, then I suggest you take that up with Discord itself, or the Police. We are neither of those things and it is not our place to monitor or police what people do outside of our microscopic realm of the internet. If they are breaking server rules, they will be handled no differently then anyone else would.
If your complaint is that other issues go unanswered, I would remind you again we're a staff of volunteers, and by no means omniscient. If you bring something to our attention we'll do our best to fix it if it's within our power to do so.

This complaint lacks merit against Sargash and is RESOLVED with no action taken.
