Flickers of light pass on through the skies.
A thick cacophony of orchestra fills the room.
A dance is required, but I shan't move.
"Ophelia."
Come shadows, they grew.
A ray of light made their demise.
The orchestra resumes.
I should rise, but I shan't move.
"Ophelia!"
Errors been made, I was to be carry through.
The lights turned bright as they materialize.
Sounds are in agony as they boom.
I cannot feel my leg, so I shan't move.
"Ophelia."
I fade into blue.
"Shall I continue the report, Sir Ronald?"
The constant noise of air filtering the room as a man continues to gaze at the stars whilst smoking a cigar. He remains distraught as little lights flicker on the surface, and he remained quiet as ever since his last order. It has been awhile since I last saw Sir Ronald in such distraught behavior; perhaps the operation length is not within his liking. This is Operation Chalice: UPP seized controlled of several remote colonies, operation consisted of several class destroyers and a battleship throughout three distant planets and the USS Almayer was ordered to provide ground forces in the city of Taph on RGS-330. It has been 3 weeks since we've deployed the marines and since then; I have accounted for thirty-six injured marines, and more than sixty-five marine casualties throughout this operation I have attended medical duties and providing relief efforts to our forces.
"Continue the report."
Until recently, relief efforts led by civilian hands and a marine detachment around the outskirts of Taph was recently suppressed, and I was caught in the crossfire. I have led a group of civilians to a small structure which it did provide cover from the small-arms fire from the UPP forces, but it did not last long as shells began to fly through the sky, smashing any of the UPP resisters on the field. The building that we took shelter in got caught in the blast, fortunately, I managed to cover much of the rubble from the remaining survivors. It was unfortunate that I was part of a casualties report; it would have caused much dismay for the crew as I do not carry possessions to remind them of me.
"RGS-217 and RGE-002 reported sucessful, yet no reinforcements for days."
This is true. We've been maintaining a stalemate for as long as we can, so that our reinforcement can come. I was fortunate to be recovered by a several caring members of Delta who were escorting the civilian resistance operatives around the Taph Outskirts. After my recovery, I was placed back to relieving marines throughout the ship, so much of the morale maintained itself as I assisted the marines to their needs. I remained in this operation in use for an accumulative time of eighteen days, twenty hours, and thirty-three minutes without rest, and as of now we been maintaining the front.
"You've been up long enough Ophelia. Go to cryosleep, we'll get tea and crumpets after this."
Shortly after this order, it had been another five days before the fall of Taph. Sir Ronald and all of crew was considered missing in action and the Almayer was damaged to the point of all-systems failure, but reinforcements had secured the Almayer. As I was went online, the Almayer was in drydock, and I was ordered by the head engineer to assist with the engineering duties. They had procured a safebox containing my belongings: a set of broken tea pots and teacups and a black smudged box of indiscernible foodstuff. It appears that Sir Ronald considered his survival and continued the Operation Chalice to his dire end.
-Operation Chalice.
More than 50,000 casualties from all sides.
How do you intend to play your Synth? Ophelia is meant to act as a respectable person, she'll heed peoples word and assist if possible. Whether tea is available is unknown, but she can assure service in health, leadership, and maintenance duties throughout the ship.
Primarily assisting marines with providing medical care to marines if need be. Basically she'll help in any field if possible with medical being her fine suite.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO) Command Staff, As a CO Whitelist, I can understand the basics and usage of the Command console or OW consoles. Piloting transport runs as well. Intel gathering may be abit new for me however.
Medical Staff, I've recognized basic chem knowledge and know almost all steps to surgery or healing to where a scanner may not be needed.
Requisition Staff, I've remembered quantities of starting equipment, popular loadouts for marines, some specified named marine combinations.
Engineering Staff, I know well enough to provide repairs for various sets (Floodlights, Generators, PAC Setups), however I do lack info for door hacking.
Military Police, I tend to stay away from this role in most of my runs, but whenever I do play as a MP, I usually have the MP book to my hand. Mostly reporting issues and continuing on business.
