So I think its been a while since we talked about what each squad does or is good at. Especially since the Ssethtide messsing up some ALGORITHMS with some squads. So lets discuss which squad you should take upon depending on your play style.

Nothing has changed. The average skill level of both sides simply got lower with the sseth tide.

The same as it's always been. Alpha are generalists, Bravo do FOB, Charlie work as a team, and Delta kill. COs who think it's good to switch up squad orders and put stuff like Delta on FOB don't realise that a lot of people pick a squad because of what that squad commonly does, and it tends to result in bad rounds and FOBs not getting built. Stick to the script with squad assignments based on what they do.
i know thats not what this is about but
man have to say i made a topic just to know better what squad do, so i have the most fun and play at my best strengths, and so i never choose bravo, cause i can't fob well, even being around a fob, i have a talent to get myself killed as a med pulling soldiers back behind cades, and very rarely i go for delta for that high action KILL KILL round, but man when the CO's changes the round a bit, man i get lost, i don't know why but i always get to the wrong squad a find my self in the FOB, not knowing what to do (( i did learn along the time to play better at fob operations, but deam, i play so much better on the scouting, or even as a doc, that i not only i perform badly, but i also do feel less fun))
and well back to what matters here, yeah i do agree robust players are still robust, but since cohesion suffered some "trouble" with the tide, i feel like support roles are working way more than before, and some even getting better just cause the more you pratice the better you will get at it, so i do think that robust players are getting more robust, if not more dead cause the lack of cohesion
One of the concepts I like from Corp Merc is they differentiate the four main squads into roles instead of them all being generalist squads. Alpha Squad are the 'general infantry', Beta Squad focus on air support and defence, Charlie Squad are Mechanized Infantry and work in conjunction with the Tanks and Delta Squad, in true fashion, are the wild card squad.
Generally, in the rare time I'm CO, I would ask each squads Engineer to act as a FoB squad since I find dedicating one entire squad to FoB duty just becomes a boring exercise for that squad.

Alpha is love, alpha is life. Alpha are my children. In all honesty though, alpha is the wildcard of all squads, they either die horribly or do something amazing occasionally.

Not everyone who lost their life on Space Nam' died there. Not everyone who came home from Space Nam' ever left there.
Would be interesting if CO's could have preferences that overrode the normal squad distribution if they are the roundstart CO. Eg putting 1 engineer into alpha and all the rest of them into bravo, giving one squad two specialists and two smartgunners.
