I used light armor a lot until I got tired of dying from some random cuck friendly fire. So heavy.

Heavy Armor all the way man.

Ever since it's come out, i've reduced my need to visit the Medbay by a lot.
Now I either keep fighting or just die

Medium and light armor are more effective for fighting.

Light armor is too light and just a casual breeze leaves you having to visit medbay.

The biggest reason to wear heavy armor is simply fractures/IB. You cut them down a ton with heavy armor. It's not very good in a fight, and it prevents you running after and securing kills, and it definitely won't help you if any xeno gets you alone. What heavy armor does, and the only reason I like to use it instead of medium or light, is it prevents random FF or 1-2 slash fractures. This means you aren't being immediately taken out of a fight for 30+ minutes from casual damage.

If medium armor prevented fractures/IB a little better, I wouldn't even touch heavy armor. It's way too slow, and the damage mitigation is a total meme. Any xeno that gets on top of you for 10+ seconds kills you regardless of the armor you have.

Heavy armour keeps you in the fight longer and keeps you alive for longer.

The speed drawback is rarely an issue.

Light Armor. If I'me ever in a heavy combat situation where I have to stop engineering to shoot, I probably wouldn't survive anyway even if I had heavy armor just based on the situation.

I like how the light armor is red in the poll and we all know that red ones go faster.

Play a medic so always light armor. If I see a xeno running at me I can sometimes just run away. Also helps me drag people out faster.

Tried heavy.. Found that the increased damage mitigation is largely irrelevant. Too many permalocks on the alien side. With heavy I was more likely to be neurospammed, queen shouted, or perma tackled.

Another bonus of light armor (if you can call it that) is I am killed way faster. Rarely am I taken alive as a host. And dying immediately usually puts me in a place where my corpse MIGHT be found.. Instead of surviving the extra 30 seconds it takes them to drag you into the woods a mile away.
