    I think trijent is meant to be future proofing for the time that will be 300+ summer pop. It's also hated because you can't really mega FOB.

    Hate to say it but, Trijent is -the- challenge for marines to ace up and be on point. Seriously you are not suppose to take over the whole thing in 45 minutes. I deeply beileve people are not using the area effectively at LZ2 and at Admin. Xenos are ALWAYS going to have the speed-ot-terrain advantage on the maps. Trijent tests marines in the round to learn how to control where things move

    It's too big, which makes it impossible to pin aliens down. And marines lose a ton more people to being dragged off, where they arent seen until it's too late.

    That coupled with the retarded water that xeno run across all day.

    I think the biggest problem is that for such a large map.. there are only 2-3 roads marines will take, because they are the fastest roads. Couple that with the fact the aliens know the marines will ALWAYS be coming from the west side of the map..

    Just slaughters.

    I'm not a fan of map because it's too big. Xeno spawn always in lab north-east which makes marines go north from lz2 and then east, making like 2/3 of the map not in use. As others mentioned: no checkpoints, no supply line, water mechanic is bad. All of map looks the same which makes navigating hard.

    Size + tunnels that showcases why marine endgame isn't fun. Main combat is now over so you have to roam around the map to find those last xenos and not take enough losses that xenos will recover with. One lost marine can potentially spawn more than one larva. An established tunnel network means xenos can hold and bleed marines and still escape with most of their numbers intact. The map size means that marines can either choose to stay together and chance xenos always being one step ahead of them or split up to find the xenos but the initial scouts will die and xenos might get away before the deathball gets there.

    Any half-decent hive can leverage these factors into extending the round to attrition their way to victory.

    But that's endgame, Trijent changes midgame as well. On a map like LV or Big Red, there's reasonable midpoints for outposts to hold and resupply. Hydro on LV, and Bar or outside Eta for Big Red, Crashed Ship or Chapel for Prison. Ice has the eternal stalemate between marines and xenos if no one rallies for a push on ladders but Bar is a good pick.

    Trijent, however, is huge. Xbox huge. A huge chunk of resources goes into making LZ + tcomms presentable and even then you'll probably only cover LZ or tcomms in manpower unless you go megaFOB. The size means that more marines going to get lost on the way to the hive because of the checkpoints or die on the way there due to lurkers. It's like hydro path except it's not feasible to defend the way because of the resource sink. It makes attacks difficult and retreats nearly impossible unless you're the first one out.

    So hot damn, Trijent Dam got picked and you're a MARINE. Well it can't be that bad right?

    WRONG

    THIS MAP SUCKS

    IT SPECIFICALLY SUCKS FOR MARINES

    The hive will always 100% be in East Labs because where else would it be? The farthest spot, easily defend-able and you can escape easily if you get pushed hard (which will almost never happen)

    The map is pretty damn big, and by big I mean O P E N. Wide open. There is hardly any cover for marines and xenos can literally meme right through you because there is nowhere to run. It's almost impossible to make fortifications anywhere but the FOB (which will be at LZ2 every single time unless you like losing in two seconds). Xenos can flank any group of marines so easily and overwhelm them. It's impossible to get backup since it takes very long to get anywhere of significance. The only two strategies you can do on this map

    1) Major metarush

    2) Mega FOB

    Now the first option is when you just want the game to end early so we can play a much better map (like ice). Mega FOB is absolute PUNISHMENT for those DIRTY xeno mains who voted trijent.

    So yeah, this map sucks. Thank god we seldom play it now

    And oh god, if you ever somehow luckily (or unluckily) kill the majority of xenos planetside, now you have to deal with major delaylien which is mega cancer for the absolute UNIT for the size and openness of this map.

    Although this map is an amazing HvH map, and tribes.

    the only thing i have a problem with this map is the fucking water.
