That actually sounds more like a thing the XO would have considering they have a cane to begin with. It'd be a hilarious surprise during the first mutiny after it's added if it was when the Marines see the XO walk around with a cane everywhere, enter CIC, and all of a sudden they're being stabbed in the face by the XO with a sword cane.
