Description of the incident:

Donald Weinstein had been incarcinated for insub and assault with deadly weapon. Delta then proceeded with breaking him free. After this CMP (me) and XO found them and ordered them to put down their guns. After this moment, Donald Weinstein pulled up an rpg and decided to PB me in the face with a rocket. With 6 or 7 people in a 9 tile space.

How you would punish the accused:

Ban him for a few days to make him think over his actions. That was FailRP and a severe misuse of his weapon.

Donald Committed zero crimes, there was a fight club in briefing that many marines were a part of, it was just pre-drop shenanigans. Everybody consented to punching each other, nobody reported Donald to be arrested, nobody really gave a shit about it except the XO. Which, for some reason, targetted Donald about the fightclub.

The CMP ignored SOP and arrested Donald while he was dead in an unsecured area.

CMP also apparently beat Donald into crit (probably just paincrit but still unwarranted). He then shoved Donald into perma with no radio and in a straightjacket.

But the rocket was definitely a bit much. I just wanted to get him out of prison man....

I was killed in the line of duty and while I was being revived by a medic the CMP charged past the FOB, near to the front and waited until I was alive again to arrest me. I was then hit with the baton to the point of paincrit as I was being taken to the brig. When I got there he listed some vague charges, put a straightjacket on me with no radio and tossed me in perma. Some fellows from my squad broke me free later and the CMP charged on us. I grabbed the only weapon I had and tried to defend myself and my mates as he was aiming a taser at us.

I understand that firing an RPG on the ship is severe but I feel like I had no choice as he was disregarding protocol and breaking marine law.

Posting as a witness here. i was the CE this round who built the fight club in briefing roundstart. Marines were playing at it everyone consented that it was just fair and Literally EVERYONE broke marine law. When we were in alamo donald was beating up some people and we ganged up on him he had his uniform stolen because of that which was a well deserved punishment because of his shittery in the alamo. I gave him my uniform so that his spec round wont be ruined because he wont be able to wear his spec armor.
Everyone was pretty chill about it when XO decided to have donald arrested planetside
(even if everyone of us was coolio now in the alamo shens. No one even reported it to the XO. And no one even complained about him)

If someone was to be arrested that should've been me but XO tried to cripple marines by getting RPG spec arrested in a combat zone area. But good thing is we won that round. As an XO he had donald in Permabrig even if hes specialist. If xenos won planetside this would've been griefing in XO and CMPs part.

CMP kinda broke SOP since our only FOB was in LZ1. The front was at hydro - barrens area.

Alright I'll respond to this.

Hydro was secured from all sides. Completely caded off, there was no engagement with xenos there at that time. I didn't see a single marine fire a single round the time I was there. Yes it was near the front but it was safe to be there. As for the permabrig, me and XO made up an agreement that we were actually releasing Donald after he had written a letter of apology. Right at that time, when I had just told him and walked away and told him to start writing fast, that is when you guys decided to jailbreak him. Now to this point I'm fine with everything, Yes I should have given him a radio, that is a fault on my end but I think things could have been handled way better than to fire an RPG PointBlank into a crowd of 6 people when he had knowledge of us going to let him free.

As yourself and others have testified you did break protocol and marine law. While it is true you eventually agreed to release me that did not happen , instead I was jailbroken and we were confronted by you. Should I have fired the RPG? Probably not. I am new to playing spec and you are also new to CMP. I think we can take this as a learning experience for our specific roles.

I agree on this completely. Both new in our roles and it was indeed a learning procedure. I only put up the report because it was suggested to me.
