Synthetic Character Story
Alfred liked to view himself as a cartographer. While the rest of the crew slept, he busied himself in the CIC with a ballpoint pen, an empty stretch of multiple sheets of printer paper taped together, and his memory. He had just finished the boot of sicily, drawing an estimation of a map produced in 14-...
The computer disrupted his chain of thought, and he realized that the marines would be awakening for their standard deployment. He thought about when the XO was once interrupted, and mimicked what he had done to the map he was holding during the interruption. He took the papers, and crumpled them hard enough that they tore, and threw them into the nearest disposals unit- he figured that emulating the command staff would work in his benefit when serving them. He took a minute to compose himself, and then he quietly awaited the officers and various other command staff to arrive to the CIC. First was the Captain, which he politely greeted, than followed by the XO, CE, CMO, RO, and the various Staff Officers, and Squad Leaders of the vessel. The Corporate Liaison inevitably followed, and after a short briefing held by the Captain, XO, and CL to the officers, they set about their business in answering the distress signal that was received from a nearby colony.
LV-329, also known as Freyards Landing, was a small agricultural settlement more towards the rim of the galaxy. Initially sponsored by Weyland-Yutani, it was marketed as a breadbasket for the inner colonies of the US, and as a new frontier for the herbicinal research that came with it. The distress call included a warning from the CLF, so there was no need for deliberation on an approach, he assumed that the Captain figured. As Alfred busied himself using the network to learn about Freyards Landing, the Captain approached him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He whipped his head around to look at the Captain. Alfred, he spoke, Im going to need you to head down to the surface and check things out- most of the systems might be more familiar to your.err...specifications.. He almost rolled his eyes at the supposition that he would be offended by being utilized as what he was- a synthetic. Ill get right onto it, Jackson, he stated, as he began to walk out of the CIC towards the Alamo. Alfred !, he turned around to look at the Captain. Weve talked about this, you cant just call me by my first name !, The Captain pleaded with him. Alfred, wanting to be a good person, and a good servant, simply nodded and smiled, and stated, If you wish, sir.. Jackson nodded, and Alfred saw himself out.
When he arrived at the hangar, he made his way past the crowded seats, and flashed his ID to open the cockpit, checking in on the pilots. Do you have an estimation for our departure ?, he asked, thoughtfully. The co-pilot looked back at him, saying We still have a few minutes, Alfred, could you please leave the cockpit ?. He nodded, smiled, and found an empty seat between two alpha marines, and awaited the signal to drop.
He observed the interactions of the marines onboard the Alamo, and found his mind wandering to the great warriors of the past, of which his creators blessed him with the knowledge with. Perhaps Suleiman and Abu Bakr, or Tokugawa Ieyasu or the other great conquerors of the past also reflected on their past leaders, and their ambitions, before such an undertaking. He cleared his throat- which he had learned could be seen as socially disarming, and smiled to a very nervous looking marine in the seat opposite of his row. Whatever awaited for them, he supposed that he would be at the very least ready for it.
What is your Synths quirk and personality? My synthetic is a very lax person, with intricate knowledge of history, poetry, and theology. He is meant to be a disarming professor and a graceful servant first and foremost.
How familiar are you with Engineering? Very- Engine setup, construction and deconstruction, barricades, etc.
How familiar are you with Command? Very- Squad monitoring, Overwatch console, Command console/issuing orders, OBs, etc.
How familiar are you with Medical? Very- I have most things burned in my head, but I shamelessly use the wiki for some surgical procedures and chemistry.
How familiar are you with Requisitions? Good- I havent played RO or CT in a hot minute but I still can man the line, order supplies, supply squads on the ground, etc.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you? Ive always been fascinated by the synthetics in the Aliens and Prometheus universes. As for why I should be whitelisted, I feel as if I have a good knowledge of programming, Marine Law, and the behavior of synthetics, alongside mastery of most support roles, to be able to perform in the job well.
