    it's honestly really situational
i usually prefer feet/legs, then switching to hands once i've broken something. makes captures really easy, especially as slower castes, or butterknife damage castes.

mind you, you have to be wary doing this. they got a shotgun, or they're a spec? hands first. backup not far away? target anything you haven't broken yet.

groin's always great for spitter neuro/acid. i'm not even sure if acid does toxin damage if it keeps hitting the groin, it's just a good meme.

Since I lack numpad, I cannot switch easily - so I almost exclusively go for the head. It's incredibly effective against no-helmet marines, and there are a /lot/ of them.

Especially COs. Gosh, how satisfying it is to decap them.

When fighting IOs, always aim hand. Their armor is SUPERB everywhere except hands and feet. Marine boots give some protection but their insulated gloves give NONE. Slice em hands off.

Lately as a runner main, I've been targeting exclusively the head, even on armored marines. Even against spec armor I can usually break their skull by dancing around them and in between pounces. From what I've heard, the organ damage from heavy head damage is particularly infuriating for marines.

    Depends on what I'm playing.

Lurker/runner/rav, I like taking off feet. Especially when targeting small groups / lone marines. I already don't feel very threatened by marine weapons, so making their escape harder is top priority.

Anything else, I go for head or hands. Hands if I absolutely need to fight, head if I'm just harassing.

taking anything but feet off is the wrong answer.

marines with a broken foot don't care that they have to hop on a stump to come kill you.

marines with a broken hand are scared shitless because now they can't use their weapon.

break feet, marines stay, marines die.
