There was silence in the jungles of LV-762, except for the hunting party of the Yautja. They traversed the jungle, stalking their prey to collect their trophies. Finding worthy prey to prove themselves.
Par'atak was one of them, stalking from above in the treetops, near a colony under CLF occupation. Yet, another presence was on the planet, the USCM. They have been using guerrilla tactics, attacking the supply lines to 'starve' the CLF. Yet they remained in the shadows. Par'atak was near one of the many supply lines. Searching for a specific prey, one that is dangerous enough that it will show he is the most worthy in the eyes of Paya.
Paratak activated his Falcon using his bracer, sending it out to scout for any potential prey. It hovered through the sky, as it scouted the area using its thermal vision. It received interference as it scouted due to the hot weather, it flew closer to the ground, still out of sight. As the falcon scouted the jungle floor, it came across a group of six marines, ambushing a CLF patrol near a road. As it hovered above the marines, it changed from thermal-vision to neuro-vision. It analyzed their emotions, checking their hormone levels and heart rate. The marines were anxious, yet they remained calm, Par'atak personally didn't like this. Yet, he knew this would soon change.
The Falcon returned immediately afterwards, connecting to Parataks shoulder. He traversed the thick jungle until he found the marines, stalking from above.
As he stalked across the trees, barely visible with his cloak turned on. Without causing a sound, he watched the Oomans closely. He zoomed in on the marine squad via his bio-mask. The Squad Leader ordered the marines in silence with just a hand gesture. Without seconds passing, the marines began to flank the CLF force. Par'atak observed this leadership with passion as he might be the one he wants, but he is yet to see the strength of his. As the marines moved in, they made one mistake, getting spotted through the foliage. Bullets started flying from both directions, missing and hitting. The marines had to be careful as they were outnumbered ten to six.
During this skirmish, Par'atak changed his vision to Neuro-vision to examine his prey. To his shock, the Squad leader, unlike his fellow marines, remained calm. Ordering them to cover fire as he and a fellow marine charged to a better position.
As the skirmish continued, the gunfight was heard through the jungle as it echoed around. Drawing in a fellow brother Kar'ata. This was the opportunity that Par'atak wanted, to prove he is more worthy. Kar'ata traversed the jungle with ease, leaping to different branches. Once he found the spot he wanted to use for observation, he just waited looking off into the distance.
"This is a great opportunity... for picking a target." Kar'ata rumbled with his mandibles as he waited. Par'atak gave a glance to Kar'ata before returning to observe the fight. Just in time to witness the SL brutally murdering a CLF soldier from behind... brutal by Ooman standards. Par'ataks mandibles clicking in excitement as he has found a worthy opponent.
"Perhaps you could prove you are worthy for once." Par'atak rumbled with his mandibles as he moved to a different branch. Waiting for the perfect moment. However, As he does so, CLF reinforcements were just in view. This was the moment he was waiting for. This would provide the best distraction for the marines to lose attention to one of theirs. But Before Par'atak could move in to take the Squad lead in the skirmish.
"My worth has been already proven." Kar'ata rumbled as he moved in for the hunt. He was hunting a CLF soldier from the reinforcement group. The same group that came from where Kar'ata came from. He already paid a visit to their group and lured them here. Par'atak knew that Kar'ata was not coming to just hunt, he came to prove against him. Par'atak took this as a challenge.
Kar'ata attracted the soldiers attention with the screams of his previous prey, using his bio-mask. Yet, it was to no prevail, the soldier just opened fire on the location. But Kar'ata didn't care, he dropped down from the treetops with no problem, uncloaked. Ready. He didn't play around with his prey, went straight for the kill. Bullets flew past him, barely scratching him. He closed the space between them with ease. Suddenly, In a swift movement. The soldier was on the ground, limp and lifeless. The body disappeared as fast as it dropped, only to leave a blood trail into the dense jungle.. Never to be seen again as Kar'ata collected his trophy.
"Swift and deadly, yet, that shows nothing." Par'atak rumbled in annoyance using his communicator to speak to Kar'ata. Par'atak jumped down from the tree top, uncloaking himself. He wanted to prove his more worthy than Kar'ata, he charged in at the Squad Leader. The squad leader turned around immediately after seeing a massive creature charging. He tried jumping out of the way, but with no prevail. Par'atak caught him in his grasp, ramming him towards the dense jungle.
The Squad Leader in pain from the impact desperately took out his knife. Stabbing Par'atak in the back. Green blood spurting everywhere. Par'atak roared in agony as he threw the Squad Leader to the ground. He smelled the terror in the SL as he looked in anger and astonishment at the SL. Par'atak grunted in pain as the knife still stuck in his back. Par'atak ripped it in a swift movement throwing it at the ground, green blood all over it. The Squad Leader starred in fear at the hulk, standing at 7,6 feet. He reached for his pistol, firing rounds into Par'atak. Most deflecting of the armor, yet one bullet sneaked in but Par'atak brushed it off. He then proceeded to his prey grabbing him by his neck, lifting him up into the air, ready to deliver the final blow.
Let Paya guide you, as you have fought we- Par'atak rumbled before dropping the SL. To his surprise, the SL forced his hand into the wound from the bullet. Par'atak roared as he felt his wound enlarge as the flesh ripped. He collapsed onto one knee in agony.
Without hesitation, the SL jumped for the knife on the ground. He grabbed it, hastily turning around to stab the hulk but to no prevail.
His arm jolted as Par'atak grabbed it with force, bending it, causing the Ooman to scream. He activated his scimitar, thrusting it into the Ooman, his screams fading as his soul got torn from him.
The SLs headless limp body fell to the ground, blood spilling onto the jungle floor, as Par'atak stood. He examined his trophy, knowingly, he roared in victory as he knew he was more worthy than Kar'ata in Payas eyes.
"This proves it... Kar'ata... I am more worthy and always will be!" He spoke out loud, into the treetops where he knew Kar'ata was stalking. "I am the chosen one of Paya!"
Kar'ata jumped down from the branches, uncloaked. He pointed at Par'atak with his Scimitar while walking around him. "You call yourself worthy?" he rumbled in laughter. "You have hunted well, but are not the chosen one of the great Paya..." Kar'ata rumbled, criticizing Paratak. "If you think you are so worthy, prove it to me." Kar'ata rumbled while activating his second scimitar, ready for a duel.
"I warned you... But I guess you do not understand... I am Payas chosen." Par'atak rumbled with excitement as he extended his scimitars in a quick motion. "And your just another challenge."
