1. when it's fun for both sides
2. i'd make human be able to vore to fulfill my secret fetish
Former staff, also former Synthetic senator.
Now just a shitposter and lurker.
My ideal event is a salt-filled HvH where both sides throw nades at each other for 2-3 hours.
What makes good events? Easy, never having them.
If I had the power I would ban all events because they are lame and boring.
But fr a Xeno Slayer event sounds kinda Gucci ngl
1. When the beginning, middle, and end are well planned and coordinated rather than plopping down mobs and autodocs in the caves.
2. Have a multi-stage CLF HvH round on LV-624.
-It would start with colony-clothed CLF with survivor-tier weapons ambushing the marines on the first drop
-Continue with a few heavily-fortified defensive outposts with standard CLF around the T-fort, Filtration, and inflatable wall zone north of the river
-End with a large CLF bunker with multiple levels (IE ladders to that special CLF z-level) and a clear command structure, implying that multiple CLF operations are carried out from this subverted colony.
I would also like to try some sort of DEFCON system for the CLF for every marine brought to the CLF z-level, dead or alive. Rewards would include spec kits, a tank, a CAS dropship, and as an endgame, UPP aid (implying that the CLF successfully instigated war).
One more note I could add: Please add a generic CAS dropship on a special z-level that can be used by CLF and UPP during events. I seem to recall both sides having access to CAS during one event, but it took a while to set up. One of the biggest reasons people dont like events is the time taken out just to set them up, and having the mappers streamline that sort of thing (along with other common issues like scopes) for event rounds would help a lot.
Enjoy.

Would makes a good event?
Being able to tell a good story to the crowd via the players. You'll often see me do events that force a lot of talking, even if they are combat oriented events.
What kind of event would I hold had I the power?
I would like to hold dynamic campaigns, where in which certain players are allowed choices, and upon picking one X, Y, Z would occur. Unfortunately, mainly due to a lack of mechanics, this is difficult to maintain as it requires a ton of micro management or is outright impossible due to a lack of mechanics that don't exist in-game.
A good event is one that is engaging to as many people as possible, while allowing the freedom of not absolutely having to do what the event railroads you towards.
And what makes it good is that death rate is either rather low or people get good opportunities to respawn.
