Description of the incident: I had spawned as a Tank Crewman alongside Lauren Von Fusenaga. We discussed roles, and decided that they would gun, and that I would drive.
They got me a marine suit of armor and uniform and told me to get out of my tanker armor "so we didn't stick out", and did the same for themselves.
The map was Solaris Ridge, and we had reached the end of the road branching East from LZ1, where Marshall Offices and Hospital meet (https://i.imgur.com/O0gZFmu.png?2). I was unsure of where to go, and was facing the Marshall's Offices hallway (only two wide, similiar to the hospital's door). When I commented on the situation, Lauren said "just drive!" So, I drove towards Marshall's and began crashing into the wall, thinking they knew something I didn't. Nope, they began berating me for the action. They then insisted we switch seats, and drove through the hospital shutters. To a degree, I understand the anger, though it would have been a better situation had they instead just given directions. Oh well.
We busted through the hospital, and then the real problems started. Lauren, evidently, did not care for the safety of themselves, or their teammates. They drove through marines and xenos alike, and berated me for not firing more often. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues with this.
Firstly, these orders to "fire!" came when there were a large group of marines intermingled with, infront of, or behind a small group of xenos. I understand that as dastardly it may be, friendly fire can be a necessary evil. The issue came when Lauren insisted that I fire into two smartgunners, a squad leader, a specialist, and a number of others to harm a defender and lurker. I had announced that there were "too many friendlies" and asked that they "fallback" or "get behind the tank!"
Secondly, was the loadout. We had the minigun, grenade launcher, and, ballistic armor. I don't know a whole lot about the tank, but I know that the ballistic armor is for "High penetration weapons and slashing attempts" whereas the grenade launcher could be described a "large explosive projectile". Lauren repeatedly berated me for not firing the launcher almost directly on top of us to get the xenos. I responded by telling them that we clearly had the wrong armor/weapon combo for this, and that I wasn't a great gunner, and they insulted me more.
Thirdly - and this may be more of a matter of opinion than anything else - they were spinning the tank erratically. If we were surrounded, I would understand this. However, we were defending from two directions, and they turned to face four. Lauren would say "grenade!" , I would attempt to fire, and they would turn. I see this as equivalent to repeatedly bumping into someone treating a patient, using the tactical binoculars, applying medicine, building, or any number of easily-interruptible actions. Once is an accident, twice is annoying, but continuously for the period of a couple minutes is enough get suspicious of something.
This was all within the initial engagement.
I was not as composed as I could have been, but I did my best to communicate these things to Lauren, so that we could work better in the next engagement.
The second engagement, they drove directly into a group of xenos while demanding that I drop grenades directly on top of our already-damaged tank while repeatedly backing over the aliens we were on while I objected and asked that we back up. When they finally did, they took time to tell command that I was awful and should just quit life. In that time, we were surrounded. They backed into a wall rather than retreat, drive through the aliens blocking our retrurn to the FOB, asking me to shoot them, asking to switch seats, or even angling the tank in a way that I could do any of those myself. They planted a block of C4 on the wall without warning me and . . . we narrowly escaped because we were stuck in a wall directly adjacent to a sleeper, and were able to enter it to get through the wall.
They seemed fine, but I took the brunt of the C4, deaf, going blind, and handicapped on the floor. They walked away, turned around, and rendered aid by doing "*shrug". They walked away. When I finally got my hearing back, I heard them complaining about me to command taking no responsibility for their own actions, and continuing to insult me even after the CO ordered us to stop bickering in the command comms.
After treatment, I went groundside to battle alongside the marines in my original armor, they ran by in a folded paper hat, and I later heard that they were Battlefield Executed for flushin Jones down the toilet.
TL;DR: A Sergeant First Class and one of two players on the marines who can turn the tide of the entire fight refused to communicate with the only other person sharing this position, acted immaturely, irrationally, and without regard for friendly players, eventually trashing the most powerful tool the USMC has within the given planet's orbit seemingly out of spite, only to redeem themselves by running into battle looking like Curious George (https://folditcreations.files.wordpr...paper_boat.jpg) and harassing command. In addition, they chose to disguise themselves as a normal marine so as to be less of a target (debatable, as it makes sense IC-wise, and it is arguably meta for the aliens to target the tankers during repairs).
I brought this up in Dchat and later OOC, and multiple players had mentioned multiple accounts of Lauren having similiar behavior in the role, including Discord Staff Sargash, and moderator Scsnv.
Evidence (screenshots, logs, etc):
How you would punish the accused: Considering the grief that they caused myself, in addition to other players for a highly coveted and borderline cherished roll, I believe they should be banned from the position of Tank Crewman for the forseeable future pending an appeal.
