Name of the Synth Character you wish to play Gary
Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines? Yes
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example. In the case of a defenseless marine being dragged off by a xenomorph, I would both immediately notify available combat-ready personnel of the situation and move in to exfiltrate the marine to a secure location, attacking the xenomorph only to drive it away from the casualty. If retrieving the marine would put myself and/or other personnel at great risk, I would instead search for them after the situation is resolved (either personally or with a crew monitoring console). Of course, there's an unspoken rule of prioritizing personnel as well: the more important to the operation they are, the more you should risk yourself to retrieve them. Mute PFCs and the like are generally low-priority, while Specialists, SLs, and commissioned personnel are at the top.
Synthetic Character Story
What is your Synths quirk and personality? Gary has the ability to alter his personality depending on what hes wearing, incorporating the primary themes and associated mannerisms each outfit symbolizes. To give an example, if Gary is wearing a boonie hat and/or sunglasses with a cigar, hell have the coarse yet kind mannerisms of a spaghetti western cowboy and speak with a stereotypical western drawl. By default, if he is wearing an outfit without a distinct enough theme to it like the standard support uniform, hell express his default personality: an affable, impossibly cheery sycophant.
Below is a full list of planned personality suites:
Doctor Gary (medical mask + labcoat/scrubs): kind and thoughtful yet no-nonsense medical professional. Curt, professional, and perhaps overly analytical.
Gary the Gentle (boonie hat + shades/cigar): stereotypical spaghetti western cowboy. Rough yet kind and easygoing.
Chef Gehri (chefs hat + apron): stereotypical snooty french chef. Professional yet short-of-temper and a touch artistic, or as much as a synthetic can ape.
GARYTRON (cardborg helmet): brusque, cold, and direct, like the robot he is deep down. Speaks in declarative statements, mimicking a computerized voice.
Gunnery Gary (USCM beret/officer uniform): model hardass NCO, knife-hands and all.
If you have any suggestions for additional personalities or improving the ones listed above please let me know!
How familiar are you with Engineering? Though Engineering is relatively self-explanatory, I've made a point of memorizing every mode of repair, construction, and hacking in-game. In the past, I have converted and improved significant swathes of the USS Almayer or FOBs with both functional and aesthetic modifications, such as constructing a luxury bar in CIC and building massive, resource-intensive FOBs. I'm also very familiar with creating improvised defenses during emergencies with very few resources owing to my time as a sweaty survivor main.
How familiar are you with Command? I'm very familiar with every command role top-to-bottom, including Marine Law. Running OW consoles and the primary command module come naturally to me and I have several times successfully coordinated every squad during an operation by myself as SO, XO, and CO. I have also on numerous occasions deployed to assist with groundside efforts while fulfilling command responsibilities such as calling OBs, coordinating squads from the front, and directing resources where they're most needed.
How familiar are you with Medical? Medical comes naturally to me. I've done every kind of surgery in the game with both dedicated and improvised surgical tools in nearly every possible scenario, from the medbay to field ORs to emergency operations near enemy lines. I'm well versed with all of the most popular kinds of chems and a good deal of the more unknown ones as well and have made a habit of producing custom mixtures when appropriate for both RP purposes and to assist with groundside operations.
How familiar are you with Requisitions? Requisitions was the very first support role I mained and one I still am intimately familiar with. I instinctively know most order costs along with the availability and optimal application of every attachment in the game for both standard issue and rare/black-market weapons. I can and have run the department by myself in the past and always make a point of being as efficient as humanly possible when filling out SD orders and utilizing the powerloaders to assist OB and dropship loading.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you? Playing support roles has always appealed to me the most out of all roles available in-game, and since Synthetics are the essential omni-support role of the USS Almayer I've always wanted to get whitelisted as one. In essence, the role provides both an opportunity to engage in unique and fun RP with both marines and xenomorphs along with the liberty to efficiently fulfill any support role in the game. Personally, playing as synthetic checks all the marks for what I look for in any given round: the opportunity to be as helpful and efficient as possible for a variety of roles while enriching the round with enjoyable RP for myself and other players.
Overall, I can contribute a very adaptable and capable character in all aspects to any given round I play in. No matter the given task or department, I can handle it with competence and decisiveness while providing other players with topical, entertaining, and enriching RP. By playing as synthetic, I seek to establish a standard both IC and OOC for what support roles epitomize: helping everyone else enjoy the round as much as possible.
