So ugh. First post about the updoots.
Weapon rebalance is great, all weapons feel more modified with attachments now and you can properly see the effects.
HPR QF+Bipod is literally what a machine gun is supposed to feel like.
Okay so, DEFCON update, really nice, gives a good reason to complete objectives now.
ASRS updates: Needs a good bit of tweaking, cause the round I was in, the FOB had enough supplies to outlast the siege of Cadia.
Sure the FOB fell but, you know, it was a pretty big as fuck FOB. Nice that we can get more specialist into the round with the ASRS update.
Would be nice to occasionally have mortar shells thrown into the mix.
Everything seems fine.
The CAS update that'll eventually drop.
Can we have it play HIGH WAY TO THE DANAGA ZONE with a 1% chance of playing when we do a strafing run?
George S.Patton once said: No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
Good hunting.

I'll always miss the old SMG burstfire speed Neth. You hurt my soul
Jokes asside, having able to successfully used buckshot, slugs, and flechettes all independently in different playstyles alongside my rifle wielding comrades, I must say, bravo, everything seems to feel and play well enough to the point that any marine willing to put the effort in can make it work. Which is great, support for a range of weapons and playstyles instead of "Bro just take a rifle, it's the marine meta" is very very nice.
I am the art style.
issue with DEFCON
marine deaths negatively impact DEFCON, but in order to do objectives on most maps, you must go directly into the xeno hive, hence incurring casualties; a vicious cycle that makes DEFCON essentially useless
also you stated DEFCON is supposed to help you when your on the backfoot; ARES update does this better as it gives you better supplies the longer you hold, which incentivizes actually holding instead of evacuating. DEFCON does not do this because if your already on the defensive, you CANNOT LEAVE your FOB or you will all die, which means you can't decipher intel, which means you can't get DEFCON, so again; DEFCON is useless on the defensive
either intel should give more than it does right now (only being able to get 20% after getting all intel on colony is really bad) or there should be objectives that give a lot of DEFCON completion in return for being hard to do (like setting up and defending a tower, etc)
i know DEFCON just started, but i really feel its going in the wrong direction if you want DEFCON to be an update that helps marines on the backfoot; you can't use it defensively due to the fact that you have to be on the offensive to get the points to use DEFCON
I'm not sure if they have the recovering bodies objective tuned correctly, that was intended to dilute the impact of losses.
Just to say the ID update Triiodine is a nifty little update that adds nicely to the game, small things like that normally get overlooked but they're always good to have.
Also, on DEFCON, is the fact that survivors can reach DEFCON 4 through power/comms considered an issue?
I dislike the defcon and the paper objective whole gameplay it feels like a RPG and is NOT necessary at all.
At this point the balance is fine but I don't know yet how works the new xeno play-again keystone.
Please R&D.
