Description of the incident:

CO using C4 on the communications console, and removing any chance of ert/evac to happen.


I feel this is very out of character for commanding officer to destroy their main if not only effective means of communicating with High command, in addition to forcing the civilians onboard to stand and fight when they should at least be given the option to evacuate. Not to mention it makes it impossible for the round to end outside admin intervention, when marines are hiding or evac back to the planet via the normandy.

i dont want my marines to evac so i disable the means of evacuation, the CO council has already told me this is OK

As part of the CO Council 3/5 of us have agreed that using C4 on the communications council is allowed.

I always do this as a CPT except I don't C4 the console and stay near it so that no one else can use it.

Wanting to go down with your ship and ensuring all hands stay to fight is legitimate. Especially since marines tend to want to evac even when there is a chance at victory.

So theres so small amount of logs relevant to the situation but heres what I could scrounge up. Nothing into detail just Sleepy saying they blew it up so there cant be Evac:

Doing this at the end of the round is pretty much IC. If the CO wants to refuse to do Evac or Distress, they have every right to do so. While just blowing up the command console for no reason would be LRP, Sleepy had a reasonable IC action to do so and I wouldn't say this had any negative impact on the round. While if this becomes a Mainstream thing, the situation may change, currently this is fine to do. Resolved.
