    Ideas for a 3rd party antagonist / 3rd party chars on planet

    I know we have the predator.

    I know we have DD's (It's a Yautja Kill Squad).

    I know we have events with UPP/CLF.



    But ... I honestly think to keep the game interesting, I personally think we should add another antagonist or just ... SOMETHING.

    Personally, I don't have any great ideas other than dumb ones that will most likely never get implemented.

    The issue with a tertiary group is how do you balance them in the grand scheme of things?

    Where do they start? On the planet or in space? Do they spawn when the Marines land? What are they doing here in the first place?

    Best concept I can think off is to have small percent chance (20% at best) where a secondary faction of UPP, CLF or Mercs might spawn. They spawn in a orbiting ship, and they're job is to land at a pre-designated landing zone somewhere on the planet. Their task after landing would be to secure and hold some kind of objective for a certain amount of time, then extract when the objective is held long enough.

    If the Marines secure the objective and take out the antags, they would gain progress towards DEFCON. If the Xenos secure the objective, they'd be rewarded with a hive wide boost to evolution rate.

    Administrators would need to job-ban the antag players if they decide to be idiots and rush away from the objective to attack the Marines or Xenos.

    But there's no telling how it'll work.

    Also Pirates.

    We could probably just find a way to implement them.

    I still think the better way to approach adding a third in game faction is to have an automated system that does not require admin intervention.

    They drop in, they accomplish and objective and they leave, or defend a preset area.

    They don't arrive too early so as to disrupt the Xenos, they defend a objective both aliens and marines would like to secure.

    Add the option to be a furry, then you have antags all over the almayer every round.
