I wouldn't say so since South America is controlled by the United Americas. I'd imagine the UPP is something like Soviet Union+China.

United Americas encompasses North and South America, though culturally it seems very rooted in American ideals, at least from what we've seen.

In regards to the UPP, we don't have much to go on. The CM wiki indicates its origin in the 'eastern sphere', which would imply anywhere from Eastern Europe, Russian to China. We also have to consider the 'Three World Empire', it receives even less mentions in the lore but at minimum it encompasses the United Kingdom and Japan, with a undescribed 'dozens of developing countries'.

The actual Aliens wiki gives a bit more information, they were formed around the 2100's, they occupy a resource poor sector of the known galaxy and their presence is concentrated in the outer rim of Human space, due to their opposition to the UA and the corporations they suffer a tech disadvantage, but they have a manpower advantage which gives them an equal edge. Its stated that the founding nations of the UPP hail from European and Asian nations, with personal from Russia, Vietnam, Germany and Spain, although whether those nations are members of the UPP is unknown.

It seems somewhat implied that the UPP are more a non-Earth based entity that was formed from colonists and other people who moved away from Earth and the core worlds, rather than being founded by a coalition of Earth nations.

Yeah, UPP was first mentioned in the early scripts for Alien� and some obscure Game boy game, Aliens fans are so crazy that they would document that, I think it's also on the new Alien tabletop RPG but that hasn't been released yet. And whoever wrote the UPP lore in the CM-SS13 made them more Earth-based, which is ok, whatever.

Is the CLF even based on anything from a licensed AvP thing? I'm pretty sure some dev years ago just made it up to fit the "people's rebellion" niche that the UPP were altered from to fit their current "iron curtain" style.

I want more types of weird alien factions to fight. I don�t really care for HvH since it results in scoped+darkness combat. Though seeing antag factions like Starship Trooper bugs, Necromorphs, The Thing, or any other weird shit out there would be great.

Also having the Marine faction be a customizable insert of either UPP or USCM would be great.

I'm pretty sure they're supposed to have merged with the UA in 2100 but as I usually say in regard to this server: "If it lets you do more, screw the lore", especially since we seem to be moving even further away from an AvP universe and closer to a more generic 80's sci-fi universe which I'm 100% up for.

Basically having HvA (Human vs Alien) be the main action while minor HvH events (maybe randomized with the umbilical and DS-Crash mechanic to get away from the well played-out "ERT shuttle invasion") decide which faction will be the roundstart humans next round.

Alien enemy types I can think of off the top of my head would be:

-A colony full of various industrial robots gone haywire and controlled by a central AI with a giant robot body that can un-root and root itself in the ground for boosts similar to the xeno ones. They could reproduce by taking metal from the colony/military and feeding it to a specialized caste.

-A more gruesome, gory type of mix between The Thing and Necromorphs would be right IMO, something more skeletal and "formerly human" than xenos. They would be "controlled" by a behemoth-type humanoid that melts into a flesh-blob to give ovi-boosts, and would reproduce by shoving humans into fleshy "vats" built by a specific caste.

-The Starship Trooper type Arachnids with their various types (some scaled in size perhaps) with a brain bug that can grow centipede legs and "scuttle" quickly in one direction like the crusher would work out well I think. I guess they would reproduce by feeding marines to the brain bug with a queen-gib esque decap.

Get the point i'm going? No need to go beyond the Queen-based gameplay we have now IMO, maybe even extending to only minor removal/addition of abilities. The robots could maybe have tesla weapons, but no regen (thus relying on heavy numbers), or the gore-monsters could have no acid abilities, but plenty of blood/gore based smoke screens and sticky-resin esque traps.

This sorta thing would totally change the server even if the general gameplay was only mildly affected simply because of the sheer combination-based variety it would introduce. The main issue I can think of is spriting, and its definitely a tall order to restructure one faction and add a whole nother from scratch (not to mention the potential introduction of different monster-types). I certainly salute the devs if they can work this sorta thing out on BYOND of all platforms.

Nah they are allied, but the New RPG says they secretly want to screw over the UA for more power.
