    Flames vs Rav/Queen

    Just a friendly CM reminder that Rav/Queen is immune to flames. If you are frontline with a flamer and use it against the Rav/Queen, you are only hurting the marines and their advance/push. For real, I've seen this a lot the last few weeks much more frequently and it's painful to watch. Please staph.

    On a more helpful note, flames are good for area denial and work wonders against other classes. Crushers in particular. If you happen to have a flamer when you are captured but break out of a nest, enjoy salty xeno tears. Just not Ravs/Queen.

    Friendly reminder.

    Flamers are useful for stopping murder-balls that follow the queen that has De-ovi'ed and is rushing marine front lines. Most players have monkeys brains and see fire = bad, even if it isn't pyro spec. A stall of her deathball is more time for unga's to get back up and murder.

    Friendly reminder that fire does jack shit damage and is directly countered by: Prae with acid spray. Boiler with acid spray. Spitter with acid spray. Any Rav. Any Queen. And Warrior counters flamer marine, because he can get flamed, grab marine, drag it to fire and escape.
    Also reminder that flamer firerate was nerfed heavily. While before you could literally throw flames constantly like flamer should and kill benos who are dumb enough to stay near marine with flamer, now you can sneeze fire once and wait more than second to do anything. Giving all the time that is needed for beno (even drone) to tackle you down, or simply slash to death. As flamer marine you don't even need to miss, fire is so weak that all benos outside larvae and young T1's are able to withstand normal fire damage from full health to low.

    At this point you should literally stop taking mini-pyro kit as it is useless after your gel fuel runs dry (flaming purple sticky). After that, simple shotgun with bayonet is a better tool to deal with purple shit. Pyro spec is also the most useless spec currently (that's why you don't see him too much, especially when someone semi-robust rolls spec).
    This state will NEVER change.

    Fire as stall of Queen deathball? Acid spray exist. Rav gang exist.
    Counter to Crushers? Charge in, get flamed, charge back, be extinguished, heal few seconds, go back. The best it does is only prelonging the cycle of charging. Fire is not killing crushers, bodyblocking from marines is.
    Area Denial? Acid spray exist. Rav gang exist. River on LV and Dam is basically everywhere and benos suffer no issues with temperature, so they don't boil in their armor.

    Fire doesn't kill anything it touches so it will never be enough for Cabal. He also never plays xeno so he has no idea how much damage it actually does or how acid spray doesn't really do shit to stop area denial.

    Back on topic though people (who aren't bald) flame the path of the queen to keep other people from following the queen to murder you too. Ya it sucks when the queen drags somebody into fire but its better 1 person dies then 5 people die to the other 8 xenos charging after a screech.

    Meanie and I do play Defender NO-666-D. Fire is weak and acid spray immediately extinguishes it. All benos need is one tile free of fire to pass any area denial.

    Edit: Bring back old firerate and I'm content with fire in 90%. Make Hedgehog Rav and maybe some Queen strain (somehow) not 100% immune to fire and it is in perfect spot that I will defend from any buffs. Trust me.

    Rarely do I see a flamer fully cut off a Queen deathball, and all the horde needs is a single clear tile. Also, it is genuinely not unusual for a Queen to drag multiple marines into fire along with her rav gang.

    I would be happy if fire did literally anything to queens and ravs, even if it was just a tiny speed debuff. Absolute immunity of any kind is just toxic imo.

    Problem is 95% of people that use flamer are not doing big brain plays like this, they are uselessly spraying at queens and ravs when there is no benefit to do so. Was spectating this week and saw a marine try to flame a rav 3 times before dying to it. More commonly it's a boot up front flaming as soon as they see xenos, regardless of caste. I dunno, shit won't change but felt like making a thread cuz why not

    Xenos in general dont like taking damage because the more damage you take the more you are at risk of a good concentrated attack killing you. Aka a lurker jumps through fire to kill a baldy, his friend PB you but the flame dmg makes it you just instant die. With that in mind burning around the rav and queen prevents xeno reinforcements from helping there gang, basically it.

    Queens and ravs dont burn and if they are on fire they take no burn damage, THEY CANT TAKE BURN DAMAGE AND RAVS GET A SPEED BOOST ON FLAMES

    if you frontline with a flamer and don't have a follow-up gun on your back or something like the sawnoff on your rig slot you're doing it terribly wrong.
