CM SS13 Collectible Card Game

Neth proposed adding a CCG into the game to give it more RP flair, and i think this is a great idea, so I've proposed a way we can do this to make it interesting: another fucking popularity contest!

Okay here's how it'll go, I'm thinking a standard deck of 52 marines, each squad is a suite, 13 marines per squad, a few notable command/mp/etc people to add as jokers. The thirteen marines per squad will go:

Ace: Staff Officer

2-4: PFC

5-7:Engineer

8-10: Medic

Jack: Smartgunner

Queen: Specialist

King: Squad Leader

We could have a CCG where you try to complete a suite, trading with marines for cards from different squads. As to who gets what, I'm thinking each spot has to be filled with a marine that is well ish known, and a person should only be able to get one of their characters in the ccg. Each marine could also have a short sentence detailing who the marine is or what they like/are known for/etc. This is unofficial but for shits and giggles I'll make one up here, comment if you want one of your characters in this deck, if it works well I might make one for shipside roles or a named xeno deck.

I get the sense that it would be cool at first, the just fade into the background. But I am not everyone. If the community really wants it, then by all means do it. Just make sure that there is a Cuban Pete card.

I think a simple little collectible card gimmick could be added with just genericized roles instead of a 52-deck cool-kids club thing. Pretty much just colorful vertical rectangles as sprites and flavor text to describe the card, so it wouldnt be much in terms of dev labor. Hell, that way there could be all sorts of buff and trap style cards represented by gear, constructs, vehicles, and even ships.
The cards could basically be justified as a new method of teaching mentally-deteriorated ungas about the marines and their enemies, easily accessible from vending machines in the canteens and R&R. USCM roles, gear, weapons, ect. along with the same for UPP, CLF, and even Xenos (especially now with the expected contact RP) in a way that doesnt necessarily have to work as an actual card game a la MTG but one that at least imitates it well.
