    Ha'zir Nairi.

    Yautja Character Story
Hazir... Nairi... The Fog... Blood Rider... Horizon Mist... Demon... The Devil... are just one of the Yautja's many names and alies throughout the annals of history... he has lived many lives... many years, he has seen and done many a thing... for decades... and even longer, has Nairi watched, with caring eyes, as humans progressed, as they expanded, as they carved their name in the cosmos with a hunting knife... Hazir always found some sort of... bittersweet comfort in them, for they were beings with such little power themselves, but when together, they were a massive force to be reckoned with... that thought tied something inside of Nairi, it was that ideology that made him steer clear of the path of a badblood, something he nearly became out of simple angst against his fellow blood brothers, angst of their aptitude, angst against their skills, that were always so much better than his... angst against his own blood... but he realised, eventually, that such a species, so comparably primitive and simple like the humans, managed to overcome such greater obstacles throghout their lifespan, why couldn't he? why couldn't the Yautja? alone, he realised, he'd be much like a lone human, weak, vulnerable, prone to being overrun by the struggles of life, but together, shoulder-to-shoulder with his fellows, he had a glint of hope spark inside of him, that one day, he could become a full fledged hunter, and one day, Hazir stopped watching, and started acting.

It was a grey day when Hazir stepped out for his first hunt... this time, he did not plan to watch... he planned to interact... he cold feel the cold chill of the fog brittling his very bones... he clicked his mandibles in anticipation... and went off. In all honesty, Nairi's hunt was more of a... scouting mission than anything else, because though he hates to admit it, he was... apprehensive... maybe a bit hesitant... he didn't quite like the idea of ending the brave... for there were so little brave beings out in the universe as it was, killing more just seemed like a... waste... but he could see why there was such a thing, like he himself had thought, brave beings ARE quite rare, so why not keep them around... or, well, at least part of them... it didn't really matter... for the hunt was on, and he planned to honor himself.

Hazir proceeded to claw his way up the tallest tree he could perceive, and wrap his arm around its crown, there, he simply stood, and waited... and as evening turned into night and night into midnight thanks to the rolling in of a heavy storm... the Yautja eventually retreated back into the tree itself, sitting down on a branch thick enough to support his weight... and waited... ...he had come to know there had been unusually high rates of humanoid activity in that area... maybe they had left... maybe he had gotten the wrong spot somehow... or maybe he-

Hazir was snapped out of his train of thought by what he thought was a thunderclap, but he could see no lightning... he looked around, clicking his mandibles erratically... until he found the source of the noise, far away, he could see a multitude of orange dots of light. ''Flashlights.'' he reasonably assumed, and offed himself off the tree's crown, landing gracefull on his feet, tucking and rolling behind another tree as he approached the lights... flipping a small panel on his gauntlet, before tapping a button... and to the soft sound of whirring technology, going invisible... cloaked.

Hidden by both technology and natural darkness alike, Nairi kept ever so closer to the lights, and when he was close enough, he positioned himself around yet another tree's crown. At this height, he could clear see what was under him... his mandibles clicking approvingly.

Humans... each and every one of them clad in hard, white armor, heads covered by some sort of thermal hood, and handling deadly, if primitive, weaponry... a small convoy it was, however, all of the imposing looking soldiers of fortune had all been stopped in their tracks by a not so imposible young man, who didn't look a day past fifteen... he held something in his hand as he blocked the convoy's way...

A kidling, however, stayed in the middle of the street, standing still, watching the columns of soldiers and tanks try to advance.

"Oi! Get off the road!" One of the tank COs shouted as he waved at him to get off the road- "Karzvagh, can ya get the bloody message across?"

Their fellow mercenary nodded, as he was closer, he attempted to shout an order to the small boy, but he was interrupted.

The kidling shrieked something the Yautja couldn't understand from that far away, and he pressed something in his hand.

"Shit- Shoot him, shoot now!" The commander shouted, frantically depressing the commander's gun and preparing to fire.

The child unclenched his fist, releasing the little dead man's switch.

And there was a sound of thunder that seemed to reach the heavens.

The Yautja was blown back by the shockwave, his mandibles clicking in clear distress... this wasn't right... he... wasn't ready for this, and he came tumbling down the tree... the fall didn't hurt... in fact, he could barely feel it... but what hurt more was the sight... of the species he had 'admired' for so long... how low had they fallen... their own younglings, used as weapons... bombs... was he wrong in believe in them, he wondered. some gunfire ring through the forest for a moment... before it all fell to silence...

Hazir simply laid there... shellshocked, even if only just a moment... before he was forced to pick himself back up, and when he realised, it was already morning... he had to hurry.

Hurry he did, eventually, on one of his many pilgrimages for worthy prey, he had stumbled upon a battlefield, blood, fighting against blood.

Hazir watched as one of the soldiers roamed around for some sort of cover... but, the only refuge being the explosion-dug-trench, he dived straight into it, landing roughly on his feet, right next to an enemy soldier, who had thrown a grenade- suprised, the soldier screamed, bringing his bayonetted rifle up, shoving it forward as he screamed something the Yautja couldn't make out-

The man half-screamed, half-sobbed the words, madly ramming his bayonet forward and back, eyes screwed shut- 'Oh my god, I don't want to die, I don't want to die, I don't want to die, please, someone help-!' he yelled, so loudly, Hazir could hear.

The soldier then heard gurgling in front of him, and opened his eyes. The person he had stabbed gurgled, evidently still alive. the soldier's mind had barely registered what he had done before the dying person reached up towards him with one hand, in a pleading gesture. He jammed his eyes shut again, scared completely, utterly out of his wits-

"AAAAGH!" he screamed, fear already taking over his voice- he pulled the trigger, and his carbine shook and rattled, shooting out cartridges into the mud-

    SHA-TA-TA-TA-TAT-

'Oh god, is it over? Is he dead yet? Oh god, I don't want to see him alive, please, god, just let him die, please-!'

He opened his eyes, looking down at the person he had stabbed. He had wispy blonde hair, and a pale, white face, fixed into a waxen, ashen expression of pain and fear- he was around his own age, the soldier realised. Oh god, did he just kill someone- oh god, he had just killed someone- 'What the fuck?! Oh god in heaven above-'

The "corpse" coughed three times, spewing blood mixed with phlegm into the air, trying to raise his hand one last time, futilely raising his head to look at him in the eyes, before his eyes rolled back and up towards the top of his skull, and he collapsed down, dead.

"Congratulations," another soldier said. "Your first kill. It's not going to be your last. Get moving!"
rough hands shoved him forwards, and the recruit advanced- an empty feeling in his chest. It felt as if someone had torn out his heart, and replaced it with an engine-

'God, what have I done? Is it- have I done the right thing? Is this... is this- what... why...' muttered the soldier to himself, as he rushed past the cloaked Hazir.

It was time. At night, when the soldier had wandered off to catch up on his own thoughts, the Yautja had managed to catch him in an area far away from his group's camp, he was alone, without a rifle, or weapon. Hazir had to be quick.

-THUMP!- the Yautja dropped onto his feet behind the soldier, and he instantly froze, whirling around just in time to catch the Yautja as he uncloaked, shoving him back harshly. Unyielding, Hazir offered a man one of his daggers, and kicked it towards him. Though they shared no words, the soldier knew the meaning of the gesture... an official invite to a duel... he had nothing to lose, but a lot to gain... and to Hazir's surpise, he accepted, picking up the dagger, and rushing to meet the Yautja, who somewhat clumsily parried the soldier's savage slashes, hacks and jabs, eventually, the Yautja had found the soldier's pattern, and managed to side-step one of his powerful blows, before striking the soldier's side with a fist, sending him rocking back against a tree. Nairi waited for him to get up, only to clash blades with him once more... sparks flied, blades met, again and again... and eventually, blood spilled... green blood... Hazir had been struck in his side, and since he had taken off his heavy armor and bio-mask prior to the combat, the blow was close to being fathal... the Yautja shrieked and violently clicked his mandibles, before making use of the momentum and sinking his own blade on the soldier's neck, collapsing the poor sod on his back... it had all happened so fast.. Hazir had made his first hunt... and he had a scar to remind him of it... feeling it would be disrespectful to treat himself off the scar the valiant soldier made, Hazir simply put his armor and mask back on, yanked the man's head off its loose slot, and with the click of his mandibles, made it off into the night, with a new mindset regarding humanity, and honor.

Describe how your Yautja acts, and how you intend to play them
Though he'd be too humble to admit, Nairi is not like his fellow brothers, when he finds it due, he rewards bravery and valiance with honor, though, he does not appreciate mindless bravado that may get others unnecessarily hurt or killed. And perhaps as a result of his past experiences and personal ideology, he sees the breaking of their Honor Code as the ultimate offense and dishonor a Yautja could bring upon themselves, for him, if you break the code, you shed your bond with the deities and their grace, damning yourself for all eternity... though not very savvy on either fields, Hazir has picked up an interest in medicine and basic engineering norms, mostly as a way to fill time when he is not in combat. When he is in combat however, Hazir would rather the grave than a dishonourable action, following the Honor Code strictly, even if it means his demise, and since he values a brave being, human or not, he'll most likely spare one, if they have proved themselves to be worthy to roam this earth, Hazir is also not very... prejudiced... so to say, he'll actively hunt and challenge any and all species should he see them as worthy and strong enough to take him on, be it xenomorph, or human, though usually, he'd rather allow a human to maintain the armor and current weapon, as he gloats himself in his physical superiority when compared to a regular human, if one does choose to take a dagger instead of their gun however, they'll most likely be spared should they come close to meet their demise by the hands of Nairi. Hazir doesn't has an end goal per se, he just wants... to live... and challenge himself while at it... if he manages to do well and be named adjudicator one day, so be it, but he'll not chase the title, as he'd much rather chase the brave.

In your own words, describe the difference between an honor duel and a hunt
An honor duel is much like a ritual, when a predator finds a fellow predator, or human to be worthy, they may choose to take them on in a fair, melee based fight, where the ointment of one's wounds is strictly forbbiden, much like the action of fleeing and/or routing, exceptions are made however, like the one very commonly mentioned, that is when a human is battling a predator, and a Xeno swarm suddenly advances towards their position, a withdrawal is allowed, what is not allowed however, is the dishonorable act of calling for assistance mid-duel, that is generally viewed as a sign of bad faith and posture, and makes on unworthy. Whoever comes out as an honor duel's victor, may choose to spare or honorably slay his fallen opponent, if they choose to mercy route, they are then entitled to one of the loser's limbs, or an item in their possession. WHEAREAS a hunt, is performed without any direct picking, simply by the choosing of a visibly worthy and strong opponent, such as a healthy specialist, that is currently wandering very far away from where he should be, and thus, is eligeble for a mano-a-mano, and since the hunt, which is nearly so the backbone of the Yautja society, is simply for sport rather than need for sustenance or elimination of possible threats to one's clan, a Yautja will commonly only try and taken down very worthy targets, of both their attention, and blood, the collection of trophies, be it from flesh or objects is also commonly done at the end of a successful hunt.

How do you intend on interacting with other predators during a round?
Hazir has seen enough to know that the best fights, are sometimes not located with humans, or xenos, and as such, sometimes, he finds himself mesmerized by the skills shown by his own kind, and oftenly, he'd most likely try and get one of his, stronger, fellows, to honorably spar with him, maybe not to death, but to the point of where one of them would see the clear superiority they were up against. Though they are not allowed to hunt a target as a group, Hazir, due to his heavy sense of loyalty, would most likely choose to stick close to his fellow Yautja, so to make sure they are safe, for as long as he can, before he eventually splits off to find HIMSELF a worthy opponent, due to the same sense of loyalty, Hazir finds himself inclined not to harm his fellows as much as a regular Yautja does in duels, so the likelihood of him actually challenging a fellow predator, is low, if he does, you better believe that predator is /something/. As for xenos, though he doesn't sees too much potential in their overly violent ways, Hazir, much like his brothers and sisters, loves a good challenge, and what is more challenging than a nine foot tall behemoth? not much, though yes, he'd still be strictly bound to his Honor Code, and only challenge those who he deems to be a big enough and strong enough prey, rather than rowdy, bold xenos that may run after him requesting a duel, he'd have no problem dispatching of those, although. Not one to be one upped by others, Nairi would most likely constantly be on a 'creeping' mission, observing, much like he did in the path, humans and xenos alike... to scout out those who are strongest amidst both of the races... not one for unnecessary risks, Hazir is unlikely to escalate a situation, unless the prey is worth it, and eligeble for a duel.

Why do you want a predator whitelist?
I may not be the oldest player here by a longshot, but man, I'm quite into this server, not only because it has the most players in SS13 as it stands, but because the community is just so lively, everytime I log into the server, I find myself giggling like an idiot as I read the OOC chats, you know, all the talk about benos, and barines, and barvae, it's great. And some months ago, I found out that there indeed were predators in the game, and I was just fascinated by the level of violent, yet extremely cool roleplay they all displayed, I was instantly hooked, and after delaying quite a bit, I decided it was time I tried to get a whitelist, because who knows, I might just be one of them one day, going around, roleplaying, creating a bit of the so needed immersion and fun, predator RP marines need, but often don't usually get, and just get dragged off and ganked somewhere, I mean, that's the point, I get it, but sometimes it's just nice to kick back and roleplay for a bit before jumping right into the action, it makes stuff a bit more fun. I believe in the fact that I am ready to take upon this role, and all of the responsibilities that may come with it, for better or worse, thank you for taking the time to read this, yes, I know it was a small bible, but hey, always gotta go that extra mile. See ya.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
    Yes

Do you understand that you cannot advertise your application on any platform for votes. Do you also understand you may not edit this application 1 hour after it has been posted?
    Yes

I will have to -1 this application, very scarce activity on forums for a player who wants to be whitelisted. I have a feeling that you should have applied more effort in the application too and that I, unfortunately, don't know who your character is at all, therefore I've never had any experiences with you in-game. I confess that I already saw you active in the discord only once I believe, but that is far from enough to be whitelisted.

Again, comparing your app to the accepted ones, I really can't see the same effort being placed. I suggest you make a name for yourself that can be recognized, drastically increase your activity in the forum and in the game before trying any whitelist, especially this one.

No offense, but I mean, I don't think one should be judged by their 'popularity' as it takes the chance of those who are actually very good at RP'ing, but relatively new to the server to actually partake in, and improve Yautja roleplay, simply because they're just not known. For what good is being popular with the masses if your roleplay is hot garbage? I'm sure it works like this already, but I think one should solely be judged by their capability to write something coherent and decent while RP'ing, I haven't seen many of the other applications, but compared to most, I think this is pretty on-par! yeah, I actually revised some of the others, and I found them pretty good, It was one of the main reasons I made this, really, due to the sheer amount of good writers currently whitelisted for predators. But I get where you're coming from with this, you have never seen me RP, so how can I guarantee you I'll actually be decent, right? I could just be doing something relatively decent now, only to go ahead and be a valid in-RP, but for what it is worth, I can give you my word that I'll do something good, thanks for reading nonetheless, your input is heavily appreciated!

Horrific grammar and too new a forum account; the issue is a lot of run on sentences, and I mean a lot. Commas are no substitute for a period. The interaction with other predators section has an unneeded tangent about interaction with xenomorphs which is unneeded and shows lack of focus, a RP/storytelling issue. Remember story telling and RP is going to be critical as predator as 9/10 your RPing interactions with other predators to pass the time, well it might be an exaggeration perhaps but point still stands on it's importance.

Otherwise in game I believe your part of the delta gang? Any rate I never seen you really RP in any way that I remember so I can't really say your RP in game transcends your poor grammar skills.

I'll leave it at -1 for now

Again, judging someone simply by their 'popularity' isn't really something that should be going on, if it is. And I think 'horrific' is a bit of stretch, a strong word, even, there may be a few 'run' sentences here and there, but spelling mistakes are at a minimum I believe, unless some wrong words slipped my attention. And... no...? for most of the time, I'm a xenomorph, not a marine, don't really recall being a Delta in the past week, or month, really. As for the 'interactions' with a predator part, I simply cut to the point, because I had seen many a whitelist application in which the applier made a veeery huge and unneeded rodeo out of their answers, simply for the sake of making it LOOK like they were putting in a lot of effort due to the sheer amount of words, when in reality, they were simply going in circles with their answers. Quality over quantity! The xenomorph part might've been a slip on my part, as I thought by 'predators' they meant predator species in general, i.e Yautja/Xenos, etcetera, but hey, for whoever wants to know how a PTSD'd Yautja interacts with xenos, it's there! again, thanks for taking the time to read. Appreciated!

Please correct your grammar and learn to use periods. It's tiring to read your paragraphs without pauses.

I won't say that it's your popularity that counts, just that other people don't have much of an impression of you and therefore cannot judge you by your actions.

I would like to see more of how you act as a player before giving my opinion, so I shall hold my vote for now.

    Good luck,

Yup! again! so sorry for the grammar slip-ups, I know how to use periods, swear! sometimes I just forget, however. Nevertheless, thank you! both of you! your input is pretty important to me, so I shall look over them and improve in order.

Greetings everyone, I don't think I ever saw your name around any of the squads lately while I was leading squads as SO and trust me it's part of your daily day at CIC to sometimes lead two squads at the same time if not all four at once. As much I love to set my eyes on alpha as marine or overwatching the operation from up there I don't think I ever saw your name on bravo as well. Take care if you're one of those astonishing deltas out there and make a name for yourself! Also hey, even marines got their own magic, don't think straight about going to predators.
Shouts out for any Alpha marine if you're reading this, you're truly wonderful.

    Take care!
