She is resistant not fireproof in lore but it done for gameplay reasons, two even if burnable should require direct hit with flamer to damage. Basic issue is the game is a 2d game, if it was 3d or flames lasted for jack and were just a DoT thing we could be talking on making various aliens burn and such butttt. Aliens cant just crawl on the ceiling or wall to ignore flamers and they have to deal with persistent flames
