    The HPR Argument Never Stops

Since we moved to a new forum, we lost a lot of good threads to watch people salt over stuff.

I particularly enjoyed watching people salt over the HPR, so here we are again.

Lately I've been finding where previously I enjoyed giving marines about one a game, I increasingly find myself lacking points for it, I don't know if I'm getting more cynical or people have become more demanding for supplies early in the round but I never find myself with extra points for them anymore.

Still think they're a good weapon though.

I recken if they bring it down to 30 points it would be better, but yeah 60 points is way too much when you have spec ammo you could be using that on instead.

It's now 30 points per HPR (2 per crate), but it still feels underwhelming and expensive. The normal firing speed isn't fast enough to do any serious work unless you're going QFA/Bipod and mounting it on something, the damage itself doesn't feel much different from a regular M41, and the burst fire is so inaccurate, no matter what you attach, that it's not worth using except point-blank.

So in my general experience with current balance, it's just an M41 with fewer attachment options, more ammo, and a lower rate of fire.

I want to like it, but there's just no compelling reason to grab one over a regular M41 unless you're an engineer with no room for ammo and always behind cades.

Seems kinda overrated to me. Then again, I've been maining the M37 for a while now and haven't actually the HPR before.

QF Bipod HPR is actually decent now since 2 people with 2 HPRs can lock down an entire flank with their absurd fire rate, but still, it's 60 points you have to spend on, and 30 extra for the ammo box to refill those guns up.

...I thought it was established that the QF on the HPR was a bug and didn't actually do anything?
Usually playing as Darwin 'D.J.' Jefferson, PFC (Private: Flare Carrier), or Smartgunner almost always out of ammo. Occasionally an RO who yearns for death, dealing with rampant jackassery of his coworkers.
Against my better judgement I decided to start making Youtube videos involving Colonial Marines. Channel
