There should be a Discord channel for discussing Gitlab.
Pitching ideas, refining them, looking for advice, so on and so forth.
We have some really great ideas floating around, but not a whole lot of pre-production for them. You then go to Discord, and see tons of tiny complaints and suggestions on the Gitlab itself. You'd expect "That's fundamentally opposed to the ideals of that faction" or "I like how it would affect the current Meta", but instead find comments like "You should reduce this proposed gun's magazine to thirty rounds" or "maybe change the wording on that part."
These are tiny little changes that could easily be fixed before submission in #gitlab-suggestion.
Additionally, I'm sure minor spriting could be handled there.
I personally found Discord instrumental in my recent Industrial Saw Gitlab, from everything to the color of the trigger and handle to the size of the Saw blades, to it's uses. However, it was hard to get much of a discussion going in #cm-discussion, as there was more focus on existing mechanics and features and the game in general over theoreticals.

Absolutely, I think there's a problem with low forum/discord participation, and anything that helps is fantastic.

Agreed, it would also be a good way to introduce people to the gitlab and get more community interaction with that side of CM.

I pushed for the introduction of a gitlab notifications channel paired with a discussion channel on the public discord similar to the ones we have on the staff discord but it was never acted upon. Nobody beyond Neth or Grimreaper or Jamie can really do it.

This has my vote if it ever gets through to those 3.

We don't need notifications to actively update, just making a new channel where players can advertise and discuss their own Gitlabs would be enough.
