Curious how many xeno players this affects. While ghosting and talking, it seems quite a few xenos have started to avoid combat roles due to this nasty feature. Whenever a marine fires one bullet, it can generate up to 7 or 8 log messages for the xeno being attacked. This is of course a worst case scenario, but the average messages generated is usually about 3-5 per shot. Combine that with spray'n pray guns like the smartgun and MGs and you have a recipe for disaster. So many unnecessary messages are generated it's not even funny.
- The gun being fired
- The bullet missing
- The bullet hitting
- The xeno roaring when hit
- Additonal projectiles (ie. extra buckshot)
- Burstfire shooting multiple rounds at once
- Acid blood spilling on the marine
- The marine screaming
- Special messages for certain ammo (incidi ammo catches you on fire, shotgun slug "You are shaken by the sudden impact!", etc.)
- Broken armor generating it's own additional message when shot
I'm sure there is other ways messages are generated from shots fired, but those are the main ones. And it sucks as xeno. It really does. You can't even fight. The client freezes up and you are stunlocked until you are ironically knocked out or in crit, at which point no more messages are generated due to being unconscious.
