So you know how whenever you order an OB you get tons of solid fuels too? What if, for like 20 plasteel, you could craft.an empty OB warhead. You can fit a crate, or a grenade, or a singular marine inside, and drop it to the battlefield. Now you can use up those solid fuels and execute the CL in the most badass way possible! Alternatively a mortar shell that fits custom grenades for like five plasteel. Decidedly less cool then an OB though

Having the Researcher crafting custom OB shells sounds like a great idea, fits a lot better than them distributing grenades.
