    Yautja Character Story
(Here is a link for the full story as this one ends at it's original end. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing
I'd like to thank Memesky (who helped with some grammar early on) RobBrown4PM (who inspired me to extend the story), Dorkkeli (for reading it over and giving me a few ideas) and Allakai (who helped me a ton with grammar/flow by pointing out poor structure). So thanks a ton all.)

Upon a remote world, one that has nothing but a small colony and some alien ruins, a militia has gathered. There are talks of some sort of hostile force that has descended upon several expedition teams as they have all gone silent. For the time however; things are calm and the militia is taking this time to relax. Some of them speculate on what it could be, others however are laughing, joking, playing cards, smoking or even drinking. Most of them believe that the expedition teams are just having a comms outage. None of them are even aware they are being watched from afar.

Their observer, a Yautja by the name of Lokh-Talare stands on the branch of a tall tree far from the colony. It’s become a bit of a hobby of his to watch the humans go about their business. Like how a human might observe a bird, ants or some other creature in the wild. This does not leave humans exempt from being hunted however, as he may learn far more from them in that time than he would from merely observing. How would they react to being knowingly stalked for a kilometer? How would they react to hearing the scream of another right behind them? How far can they make it with only one arm? Lokh has, in the past done all of these actions during a hunt and has many more things that he would like to experiment with.

Lokh is taken from his thoughts when he spots something of interest. One of them is holding up an old knife which is made out of the tooth of some great beast and is showing it to several others who are looking upon it in a mixture of envy and curiosity. It was probably stolen from one of the burial sites on this planet. “This will not do” Lokh thinks to himself. Before he could move from his perch however he hears a loud screech and the humans start to panic and grab weapons. Looking around he quickly finds the source, there are serpents assaulting the colony. Lokh, believing that this is a great chance to witness how this group of humans fight the serpents decides to retrieve the knife when everything has settled down. Hopefully in the meantime they will put it to good use.

As Lokh watches the fight unfold he can’t help but remember his first run in with the humans and the events that led up to it. Back when he was a young blood long before his first true hunt. He was garbed in what one would call very tribalistic armor made from hides and carapace while armed with nothing but a simple knife. He stood before one of his clans’ elders who was reminding him of the trial he would undertake. Lokh was to be sent down to a world with a very inhospitable jungle and use all that he had learned to survive down there with only minimal equipment. The atmosphere was not perfect for the Yautja but it would allow for him to survive for a little over a month’s time with few problems to his long term health. Should he survive for this time he would be allowed to move onto the next step in his training. Another step towards becoming a hunter.

This was a necessary trial to his clan as all hunters must know how to live off of the land should they find themselves trapped on even the most inhospitable world. The jungle he was being sent to supposedly had poisonous plants, ferocious predators and deep mires that would surely spell the doom of any who fell in. In other words a perfect place for such a test. Lokh would not be shadowed nor observed, he would receive no assistance and would be left to die should he be found wanting. This is the test that most young bloods fail but Lokh was sure of himself.

Once The Elder deemed him ready Lokh was brought down to the planet and the test had begun. His first goals were to find shelter, food and water in that order. He managed to find a tree that had a strangely grown base that would keep him away from the muck. He found several types of creatures he could hunt for food. They would have never passed for worthy prey were this a hunt but this was not a concern as the test allowed for this for the sake of avoiding starvation. As luck would have it he even managed to find a rock that was of suitable shape to serve as a bowel allowing him to boil water over a fire. This all took him several days and by the time he was done Lokh was settling in for the long haul believing The Elder had accidentally placed him in the wrong jungle. How wrong he was.

As his time on the world drug on so did his movements, his precision and his his thoughts. The poor atmosphere was taking its toll on him as time flowed by. He found himself dizzy more often than not. He found it hard to catch his breath and found himself needing to take breaks between performing even the simplest of tasks. This was his true test. Not to best the plants or the animals but the planet itself. To make matters worse the creatures he was using for food had been vacating the area leaving only the more dangerous ones that he had been doing his best to avoid. With the stockpile he had he’d be fine for maybe another week while he’d have to last two. It would not kill him to go without food for this time but would leave him in a weakened state for sure. It seemed The Elder had indeed made a correct choice for this test.

It was while contemplating this that Lokh heard a very loud noise, the sound of an engine. He listened to try and locate it but there was no need as it flew directly over his head. It was not Yautja in design, based on what he could remember of his studies it silhouette appeared human in origin. Using the direction it traveled and the fact that the sound didn’t vanish completely he assumed it had landed in a clearing that was a good distance away from his camp. It was far, but not far enough. He made his way over to the clearing as quickly as he could to confirm this. Unfortunately he was right.

When he had gotten there the sun was low in the sky and the humans had unpacked their camp. It seemed most of them were not warriors as only a few were armed. Those that were not armed were either picking at the plants or using one of the various devices they had set up around their camp. They were all wearing full body suits and gas masks, perhaps the atmosphere was not good for them either? Getting a closer look at the ship revealed it was meant solely for transport based on the total lack of protrusions or holes on its sides and front. Managing to stay out of sight he observed them for some time till he spotted something. One of the warriors had at some point acquired a Yautja ceremonial dagger that they were keeping on their belt. He did not know where they had acquired it but it does not belong with them.

Lokh followed this warrior for some time till at some point one of the others had spoken with them and the two stepped into the jungle despite how late it had gotten. This was good with any luck they would stray far enough that they would not be heard if attacked. Despite how dark it was Lokh had no problem following them as they were hard to miss with how much light and noise they were making. It was odd that no predators of this jungle decided they would make a fine meal however, it made what came next easier.

Lokh stalked them for quite a way before they stopped, seeming to have found what they were looking for. Deciding they were far enough out Lokh sprinted from the bush to try and quickly incapacitate the warrior, get the knife and run. This however did not go to plan. The whole event is a bit of a blur in his mind. Perhaps it was the atmosphere, perhaps it was the head trauma, or perhaps even a combination of the two. No matter the source all he remembers is pushing the escortee out of the way before going for the warrior. The fight was a struggle as the warrior had gotten a shot off at them before Lokh had thrown the gun into the brush. At least he assumes that’s what happened as they then began to fight with their fists after that. He remembers the escortee trying to interfere but a shout from the warrior made them back off. The warrior was a fast one managing to get in two blows for every one that Lokh had landed. Or maybe that was due to his sluggish state. Either way the only reason Lokh won that fight was because he managed to get the warrior on the ground where he could pumble him.

It was a close fight, Lokh was close to collapse when it was over dizzy and barely able to stand. The warrior fought hard, Lokh had decided that they really were worthy of keeping the dagger and left it with them. Where he a hunter Lokh might have even marked them so that this does not happen again. As Lokh staggered off into the jungle he heard shouts and a large amount of commotion coming his way. Lokh barely managed to avoid being caught by hiding in a tree but beyond that he doesn’t remember how he got back to camp alive. How he survived the rest of that time is also a mystery as the next thing he remembered was being tended to and congratulated on passing the trial. This however doesn’t stick out in his mind as much as what he can remember of the fight. It left him curious as to how strong these humans really were. How much they could go through. How each of them act. A curiosity that had dominated his thoughts for the next few days and has lasted all the way to the present. His mind suddenly snapped back to current events as the fate of the colony laid before him.
The serpents had cleared it out and captured who they could. The one with the knife had fled to the north after being wounded. For some unknown reason the serpents failed to pursue him. Lokh leapt from his perch before going after them making sure to grab the body of a serpent along the way. He felt the urge to experiment with the fleeing human. When he found the human they were pressed up against a tree scared, shaking and knife in hand. It was then that Lokh let out a screech similar to one of the serpents and threw the body he brought over towards the human. The human screamed and scampered away from the body pointing the knife in its direction. Only after a full minute had passed did the human seem to realize it was dead and approached wearily. He poked it a few times before Lokh let out another screech making the human fall back and stare up at him. Lokh leaped from the tree having been spotted and approached the cowering human. In their injured state they would not make for a good hunt so Lokh snatched the knife from the cowering human and turned to leave. There was no worthy prey left for him here for the time being.

(There is more to this but I left it in the doc cause this was 1990 words and the whole thing is 3119. I was told the latter half is much better and it also contains more lore/character stuff having focused WAY more on it.)

Describe how your Yautja acts, and how you intend to play them
I intend for them to experiment and study humans and xenos alike. In the story they care little for studying the xenos but in the game they are other players and as such act very differently. This would get his attention. To expand on the earlier point. I basically intend to follow the formula of “How does (X) react to (Y)” with (X) being a human or xenos and (Y) being some form of stimuli. So for instance “How would a marine react to having a box full of ammo suddenly be thrown at them from the darkness”. This would be limited to those who are being hunted by Lokh or are not otherwise unhuntable as the code dictates. I'm also going to have them hunt down any lost gear as best they can while doing so. As should it be left behind or be left in the possession of a human it would be disrespectful to the fallen.

So basically I intend to (mostly) observe, experiment, retrieve lost gear and hunt. I'd also try to avoid going too far and just becoming an annoying dick as well by for instance throwing bodes that are (likely) revivable/important into the dark for no reason. While this is how I plan to act for the most part I can't say every little thing I may or may not do in the future for obvious reasons. At the end of the day I'm just hoping to make the round just a bit more interesting for all involved.

In your own words, describe the difference between an honor duel and a hunt
The act of a honor duel is to fight one the Yautja perceives as an equal or near equal regardless of who or what they are. It is the true test of martial skill and as such prohibits any form of help, healing, running away or ranged weapons. The winner may do as they wish to the loser up to an including taking their life. If they were impressed by their foe I believe a Yautja may show them mercy or even gift them something. Although I’m not sure on the latter bit.

The hunt however is when they deem someone or something (that isn't a Yautja) not an equal but still worthy as prey. They may use any tool in their arsenal and must hunt alone. There are many criteria for prey to be found worthy but the greatest of which is that they are in good health prior to the hunt. Prey can be found worthy of a duel mid hunt should the Yautja be impressed by them but this does not always happen. A hunt will usually end in either the death of their prey or the death of the hunter.

Basically in short the difference as I see it is that while a duel is between equals and does not need to end in death, a hunt does. With the exception noted above.

How do you intend on interacting with other predators during a round?
I intend for them to be courteous and respectful should they encounter another Yautja especially if they are an elder of their clan. They will probably not initiate conversation other than a greetings while in the field without either a good reason or the hunt has concluded (Xenos board the Almayer). This doesn’t mean he wouldn’t hold one with another he’s just unlikely to start it.

Why do you want a predator whitelist?
I’m not going to lie. When I first started putting the story together it was because I just wanted to play around as a predator. As I started working on this app and pouring hour after hour into it I started to become obsessed with it. Now I genuinely have an interest in knowing more and RPing as a predator. I hope to be able to put the role to good use should I get it.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
    Yes

Do you understand that you cannot advertise your application on any platform for votes. Do you also understand you may not edit this application 1 hour after it has been posted?
    Yes

Having discord access is a requirement because of important annoucements relating to predator codes/guidelines. Are you currently banned from the CM Discord?
    Yes

I'd also like to note that I know I have a note on my account saying I used meta-comms. I would like to say that I had both asked for permission and received permission to use them ONLY to help teach the friend mentioned how to play. They had not played CM or even space station 13 before so it was a bit necessary and we did not do anything that would influence the round.

I'm not... I fucked up and hit the wrong one. I really wish that wasn't a button press on the app.

Hi! Hello, it is good to see this application finally I was very glad to see your story grow and change! I appreciated this story a lot and had a lot of fun seeing it in action. Onto the application. I do like the story and does show your predator and how he thinks, how he acts, and his general way of doing his general business of hunting.

His general personality and I do like predators that are easy to talk to and approach. Being a predator can be rather lonely especially when the others are difficult to speak to. I like it! Also regarding your messup on the Discord ban considering I've seen you plenty on the Discord that is understandable it was a mistake to have on.

Overall, I give this app a happy +1

See you on the hunting grounds, brother!

I read the applicants story prior and was quite impressed with it, specifically the world building of the environment and the effects it had on his character.

I do have a request though.

Write me a story about your Yautja's religious beliefs. If your character does not have any religious beliefs, then write me a story about how he views religion as a non-believer or agnostic. The story does not need to be long, but it must not contain a hunt to which your character is involved in. You can talk about hunts, but the focus must be on your characters view on religion. You can be as liberal in your story telling as you want, as long as you follow the established Yautja Pantheon (See the Yautja lore thread in the WL thread) and you do not stray to far away from what we know of the Yautja.

The deadline for this is Feb 7th at 20:00hrs -7 UTC.

Yikes. I've never been good at writing about religion. It's always been a touchy thing for me to tackle personally. However since it's you asking Rob *Cracks knuckles* how long you want it?

Right well. I've done as asked. It's not great. It's honestly kinda bad, but I was writing outside my comfort zone.

I have read over both the application and the addition to which I asked of the applicant, and have found both to be of sound quality. I am going to be approving this WL application.

I have messaged Bancrose, though it may take a while for you to receive your perms.

Congrats and good luck in the fields, brother.
