    Predator Honor Code 2020 Revision

    Yautja Honor Code
    2020 Revision

    The Yautja Honor Code is a set of rules all Yautja players are required to follow. Failure to uphold these rules may result in suspension or removal of your Yautja Whitelist.

    Disclaimer: Yautja are a third-party faction with the ability to engage either side in combat. They are not your allies and should not be treated as such.

    The Honor Code applies to all Yautja on the hunting grounds. It informs you what prey is designated to be hunted by a Yautja and clarifies what intents and weapons the Yautja may use upon its target. The hunting rules of Yautja are the backbone of the role and should never be broken. Please note, classification applies to both individuals and groups.

    Honor Code Infractions - If you break the Honor Code while hunting a prey, you are to cease your hunt of the said prey. If you critically injure them during this, please bring them to their teammates. E.g Bring xenos to weeds. Marines to their squaddies or fortifications. Should you not be able to, due to a threat or time constraints, you will not be penalized for this however, you should be prepared to defend your initial actions should a report be filed.

    NOTE: This is a living code, expect changes to be made based on conversation and updates to the game.




    Prey
    The welfare of prey:
    You are forbidden to save any prey that you are hunting, unless you are actively engaging them (E.g In combat with each other.). If the other faction intervenes when you are actively engaged, you may save your prey and bring them to a safe location on the hunting grounds to continue the hunt. You may save any prey you are hunting if you breach the honor code while actively engaging them and return them to their defenses/Faction.

    Stray Fire/Off-Screen fire:
    Given the armour of the Yautja, any unintentional fire/off-screen attacks are to be ignored, given the likelihood of confusion from Humans and or Xenos. An exception to this would be snipers/boilers shooting at you multiple times and there being no other enemies around.

    Taking trophies:
    Aside from the various body parts of your prey, Yautja are allowed to take any item from any human or xeno and claim it as a trophy however, they are not allowed to wear or wield any of the items to which they take as trophies unless the trophy is head gear or a melee weapon from their prey, in which case they can use it. They can have them in their hunting bag or place them in the trophy hall or elsewhere on the ship (I.e. their dorms).
    Note: The collection of specialist weapons, smartguns and any unique ancillary gear the specialist/smartgunner requires is not allowed. (I.e. Scout Vision, Power Pack, Rocket ammo etc.)
    Trophies from the ship: Trophies are not allowed to be used as weapons in the field. They are reserved as rewards to honorable prey who defeat Yautja in honorable duels.

    Worthy - Yautja specifically hunting prey must ensure that their target meets the following requirements:
    • Is able to actively fight back against the Yautja. E.g. Marine has ranged weapons (Holstered or wielded) to fight back with/For Xenos, not injured and able to fight in the moment. (This includes any melee weapons longer than a knife)
    • Has no visually apparent wounds (i.e they appear to have 100% health on the med hud). Note: Prey that have splints or any underlying issues such as IB that do not show up on the health hud or examine are considered worthy.
    • Prey not actively engaged in a fight or assisting in a fight. (I.e. Prey healing up after a fight to fight again and/or dragging other xenos to safety)


    Examples of worthy prey:
    • An armed marine/xeno wandering the map not currently engaged in combat
    • An armed medic travelling in a group that is not engaged in combat
    • Any party that fires towards a Yautja, attacks or displays any other sign of aggression towards a Yautja (i.e.Pounces at a pred, wields their weapon in the presence of a pred while no other hostile parties are present)
    • A marine wandering the map who is wearing splints but appears to be at full health
    • A survivor who is armed with anything larger than a sidearm
    • A CO that is planetside and attacks a Yautja without provocation.
    • Any lurker/runner that stuns themselves trying to pounce you, you are allowed to hit them while they are still recovering. Same applies to marines stunning themselves with nades
    • Any prey that you have trapped and attacks you while still trapped.
    • Any xeno with full health. (Does not matter if armor is not full)
    • Any Prey stunned with a melee weapon (This is optional and not necessary)


    Unhuntables - Humans or Xenos, that by circumstance or duty, are unable to be hunted however if they attack you, they lose their unhuntable status.
    • Non-direct combatants. Drone-evolutions, boilers, all Almayer crew (Non-military), Synthetics, etc unless they are actively engaging you.
    • Humans or Xenos defending key locations, such as the Hive or a FOB.
    • Humans or Xenos that are actively fighting on the frontline. Coming back to heal does not disqualify this.
    • Any Human or Xeno stunned from LPC or HPC. Unless they are dishonorable.
    • Humans or Xenos that show any amount of damage on the health hud, or show an injury via examination (splints are the only exception to this).
    • Humans who have proven themself in an honor duel and was gifted a Yautja trophy
    • Any Prey trapped by a hunting trap until they take off the trap. If they attack you while trapped they become worthy.


    Examples of Unhuntables:
    • Larva, Drones, Carriers, Boilers, Hivelords, Queen
    • Docs, IO’s, Researchers, CL, Vehicle crewman, Synths
    • Marines that are in or guarding the FOB
    • Xenomorphs in or guarding their hive
    • Any opponent who shows damage on the health hud and or while examining them (This excludes splints, but no other damage).


    Splints:
    Any prey that has splints is considered worthy as the splints should not affect the combat effectiveness of the prey. However if the prey has confirmed fractures but no splints, they are considered unhuntable. If the prey has splints but is showing other damage, either on the hud or via examination, then they are unhuntable.

    Dishonorable - Human or Xenos, that by their actions, have dishonored one or more Yautja and can be killed using full gear of the Yautja. Dishonorable include one of the following:
    • Any third party that interrupts an honor duel between a Yautja and their opponent
    • Any opponent in an honor duel that runs away
    • Any human that throws their weapon to avoid fighting a Yautja
    • Any party that actively defends dishonorable prey via shooting at the Yautja or attempting to drag the dishonorable prey away. (NOTE: You need to prioritize dispatching the original dishonorable prey. When you kill the dishonorable prey the party goes back to its original status)
    • Any human, whom is being hunted as worthy prey, or is involved in an honor duel, runs in to a vehicle (Note: The vehicle and it’s entire crew becomes dishonorable at this point, UNLESS that vehicle is the Medevac APC, in which case it is off limits )
    • Any party that engages in LRP behavior towards a Yautja (i.e. dabs the Yautja, hugs the Yautja, dancing in front of a Yautja, begging to become a thrall)
    • Any party that metas the Honor Code. (I.e. telling the yautja what they can hunt and what they are allowed to do such as a runner telling the pred what is worthy or not.)
    • Is moving, manipulating or dishonoring the body of any Yautja
    • Any thrall that is unruly or misbehaving. (I.e. running away from their master with the gear, refusing an order)
    • Once a dishonorable prey has been dealt with, whether it be by them being killed or no longer committing the offense that made them dishonorable, they are to be considered worthy once again





    Weapon Usage

    Worthy - These weapons can be used on any worthy prey:
    • All Yautja melee weapons
    • Smart discs
    • The combistick in melee and when thrown
    • Traps (You may not attack a trapped prey, unless they attack you while trapped)
    • Wrist blades
    • Heavy Plasma Caster and Light Plasmacaster (You MAY NOT attack a worthy opponent stunned by either)
    • Harpoons


    Dishonorable - These weapons may be used against any dishonorable prey:
    • Plasma rifle
    • Plasma pistol
    • Spike launcher
    • Traps (You may attack a trapped opponent if they are dishonorable)
    • Cloaked Combat


    Plasma Caster
    • Can be used on worthy prey, but they become unhuntable while stunned.
    • Dishonorable prey may be terminated while stunned.


    Thrown explosives:
    Grenades (and other thrown explosives) can be thrown back in the following circumstances:
    • The thrown explosive is tossed at you
    • When you are cornered and there is no possibility of escape outside of going through your opponent(s)
    • When a thrown explosive is tossed into a lodge to which you are inhabiting.
    • If you're in battle and you happen to catch one mid fight. (NOTE: Yautja players should not be making this tactic apart of their regular repertoire, nor should they be picking up thrown explosives that are dropped or primed mid fight if you're in a position to distance yourself from the explosion. One off's and chance occurrences where the Yautja player catches the thrown explosives will be allowed. Be warned however that continued use of this tactic through out a round will result in strong disciplinary action being levied against the accused player.





    Secure Areas & the Environment:

    Hive: The hive is anywhere where nests are in the view of a Yautja. If they are on screen, then you are in the hive.
    FOB: The FOB begins when you can see any of the primary Landing Zone, or the primary dropship. If you can see either, then you are in the FOB
    Almayer: Under normal circumstances, Yautja are only allowed to go up to the Almayer to recover gear, killing abominations, transporting back felled honor duel opponents, and any thralls that have lost their master or been killed in combat. No hunting, no peace conferences, only the above. Any amount of yautja can go up, no minimum.

    FOBs/Cadelines:
    Predators should not be disrupting, harassing, or causing any harm to marine fortifications. This does not mean that you can’t go near them or even go through them, just that it is a complete judgement call on whether or not you can pass by/through without causing any issues. Predators passing by or through a cadeline should ensure, to the best of their ability:

    • They are not noticed.
    • They do not hurt or hunt any marines inside the fortifications (if you want to challenge a marine inside fortifications, you should beckon them out, if they don’t come out that’s that).
    • They do not damage or disrupt any parts of the fortifications, this includes: sentries, barricades, supply drops, etc.


    You are responsible for anything that occurs as a result of your decision if you choose to stand near or go through a fortification. Use your best decision-making and rational thinking to determine if it is safe and clear for you to pass through before going near, because if you make a poor call it is on your head.

    Examples of a cadeline you could pass through quite safely:
    • There are no marines near the area, and the cadeline itself is narrow so it can be passed through easily.
    • The area is low-traffic and has minimal motion detectors or sentries.
    • The area is still in the process of being built and won’t be disrupted by your presence.

    Examples of a cadeline you should not even attempt to pass through:
    • It is a high traffic area, such as Nexus on LV with an LZ1 FOB, where cades have been built in Nexus.
    • Several marines are actively guarding the defense line.
    • Injured/dead are being actively treated and there’s very little space.
    • The fortifications are large and passing through would not be quick enough to avoid disruption.


    Hive Disruption:
    Before Xenos get Tier 3s, Yautja are not allowed to hunt or interfere with the Xenomorphs gathering hosts, human or not, that being said, if a Xenomorph attacks you in any way or performs any LRP action towards you, they forfeit their immunity. Do not attempt to retrieve any infected persons from any xenomorph nest, Yautja exempted. Humans and the like are beneath your notice, and if they get infected they are worth even less of your time, the only exceptions would be if a human has a piece of Yautja gear on them. If this is the case then the gear should be retrieved and the human left as is.

    Environment:
    Yautja are not allowed to alter the environment in a way that would create a route directly to either the Hive or FOB. Yautja are also not to directly alter the environment in a way that would lead to a direct benefit to one side (i.e. blowing up Lambda, blowing up eta, blowing up hydro).

    Using fuel tanks and other objects in the environment as makeshift traps is a dishonorable tactic and is prohibited.




    Interactions with other Yautja

    Killing/Murdering a fellow Yautja outside an honorable duel is considered the worst possible crime. This action will result in your Yautja becoming a bad blood, and will result in disciplinary action being taken against your whitelist.


    Yautja Honor Duels & Mercy:
    Yautja may challenge another blooded Yautja or human they deem worthy of an honor duel. Honor duels are to the death but have some rules:

    No attacking the opponent while on the ground
    No ranged weaponry
    If the opponent is a human, that human must be provided with a weapon of similar strength to that of the weapon the Yautja is using.
    For a Yautja on Yautja honor duel to occur, there must have been a major incident that occurred between the two (i.e. The stealing of a trophy, grave insults and so on.)

    Should the human win, they may be given a trophy from the ship by the other Yautja.

    Any interference with the duel will lead to that party being marked as dishonorable. Also, any party that breaches the rules of the will be marked as dishonorable.

    Xenomorphs and Abominations can never be the opponents in an honor duel.


    Respect: Hunters are expected to respect their superiors; be they Elites, Elders, Clan Leaders, or Ancients, even from other clans. Natural roleplay events that occur during the round can counteract this clause as long as you have an IC reason for your disrespect or attitude toward these ranks.


    Cooperation:
    Yautja must hunt alone. The only thing you are allowed to do as a group is, dispatch dishonorable, gear/body retrieval, and hunt abominations. Orders from Ancient Yautja may change this with admin permission. However this should not occur unless the yautja agree to do the above together except hunting abominations.


    Self-Destruct:
    For one's body to be killed in combat is dishonorable, though to die by a bracer's self-destruct is an honorable death. If a Yautja is about to die, they must try to self destruct. Once you have committed to self-destructing, you must go through with the process unless you have a very valid reason to cancel it. Self-destructing and then canceling to scare away enemies is considered extremely dishonorable. During the self-destruct process Yautja are unable to use any weaponry or attempt to keep Xenos or Humans within the self-destruct radius. You’ll never be disciplined for not self destructing however, you should try and make every attempt to do so within the bounds of the honor code.

    You are allowed to Self destruct fallen Yautja as you see fit provided they are not in the FoB or Hive. That being said, do not throw the body as a weapon after you trigger the self-destruction sequence. The same rules apply with attempting to keep Humans or Xenos within the blast radius.

    Yautja should make every effort to avoid SD’ing in the FOB or in the hive, unless it is completely unavoidable then you may do so however, you may be reported and should be prepared to defend your actions.


    Abominations:
    Abominations are considered unworthy of life and should be eliminated with every Yautja-made tool in your arsenal. If you get infected, you must die at any cost.

    Should an abomination appear, the Yautja may parley with the Marines and set a temporary ceasefire in order to concentrate on killing on the abomination. This is a ceasefire and you should not be assisting them.

    Should an abomination be present on the Almayer, hunters are able to go onboard to destroy it. Focus should be placed on killing abomination with the intent on minimizing unnecessary kills, though some are to be expected. After its death, all Yautja are to leave the ship as soon as possible.




    Gear Recovery

    Yautja technology is sacred, the knowledge behind it originally gifted to them by their gods. Equally, the Yautja spirit is blessed by the gods and no other lifeform holds the right to handle, possess or manipulate Yautja technology or the bodies of fallen Yautja. Should this occur, the defiler(s) should be destroyed immediately and the gear recovered.

    Gear recovery is mandatory on the ship, this includes recovering (or destroying) the bodies of fallen Yautja. Gear recovery in the hunting fields is optional however, and the holders are to be considered worthy unless they've committed an act that would make them dishonorable. All fallen Yautja bodies are to be recovered regardless of location. However, it is prohibited to SD a fallen Yautja body in the FOB or Hive, and gear recovery is prohibited within the boundaries of the FOB.

    During gear recovery, you should try and minimize the amount of damage that you do (i.e. A group of Marines is surrounding the body of a Yautja, you shouldn’t detonate the body there and then) however, with that being said, if there are obstacles in your way you should not refrain from completing your objectives

    If xenos hijack the shuttle, you are not allowed to head up to the Almayer however, if you are already in the process of gear recovery, you are to continue until you are finished recovering the gear and any bodies.

    Note: There is no minimum on the number of Yautja required to perform gear or body recovery/destruction on the Almayer, however Yautja are not obligated to go up to the almayer if they are the only Yautja alive.




    Thralls:

    Yautja players can abduct humans as thralls. Thralls should be humans that have proven themselves in combat. Weak humans should be overlooked and humans who beg to become thralls should be exterminated. Thralls should be given a piece of Yautja armor, a biomask, and a single melee Yautja weapon, no more. Thralls are not allowed to use any human ranged weaponry but are allowed to use any human melee weaponry (This does not include trophies on the Yautja Ship).

    To Yautja, thralls are viewed as unique oddities or tools, but are something that should not be coddled or looked upon with affection. Thralls can be healed by their master, but they should not be brought back from the dead. The hard cap on thralls is one per Yautja per round. Yautja are not allowed to save a thrall from death unless the thrall has defeated their opponent. If a thrall dies in combat, their master may choose as to how the body is treated however, the gear given to the thrall must be recovered.

    Yautja are to police their thralls and are to pick the opponents to which they hunt. An unruly or misbehaving thrall can be reprimanded or executed as a dishonorable foe at any time by their master. Thralls should not be force infected, and if they become infected through the course of the round they should be exterminated.

    Should a thrall's master die, the remaining Yautja should retrieve their gear and teleport them to the Almayer. Should there be no Yautja left, the thrall should be left to their own desires/whims.




    Lodges:

    A lodge is an enclosed and secluded area wherein a Yautja (or Yautja’s) setup and base their groundside hunt out of. To declare a lodge the Yautja must agree upon a single site, and must secure the enclosed area with any entrance/exit to it being handcrafted sandstone doors. Lodges must be away from the main areas of the map so as to keep it away from the front lines. It is the responsibility of the Yautja to ensure the lodge is created in a secluded area. No more than 1 lodge can exist at a single time. Should a lodge get destroyed, or the Yautja decide to abandon/move their current one, then they must tear down the sandstone doors to the best of their abilities before declaring a new lodge site.

    Any intel that exists inside your lodge upon its creation should be removed to the best of your ability. Yautja are not responsible for any intel that is inside a storage device upon the lodge being created.

    Defense of a Lodge:
    Any party that trespasses into the lodge is akin to attacking a Yautja, unless that party is already dishonorable, in which case they may be disposed of by dishonorable means. Multiple Yautja may attack the same prey that enters the lodge. Traps may be set down inside of lodges. Any party that gets stuck in a trap inside a lodge may be attacked by worthy means, unless they are already dishonorable, in which case they can be dispatched by dishonorable means. Prey trapped outside the lodge, and who enter the lodge under their own volition, become worthy, unless already dishonorable.

    Any party that is making a deliberate effort to attack or breach the lodge becomes worthy, unless they are already dishonorable. Stray weapon fire or spitting is not considered a deliberate effort. Any vehicle that deliberately attacks the lodge may be dispatched as if it were a dishonorable party.

    Gear stored inside lodge:
    Any gear that can be tracked should not be stored in the lodge, unless said gear is in the process of being recovered. If you are recovering gear you must make a concerted effort to not store the gear in the lodge any longer than is necessary.



    Exceptions:

    Ancients: (A Yautja role given to all Yautja Council members) are given some leverage with things such as Additional Rules and may alter how the Honor Code is dealt with ICly for that round. Councillors are unable to change what prey is worth, unhuntable, and dishonorable. ICly, what an Ancient says is to be respected and followed as a superior to the Blooded Yautja. Players under direct orders from an Ancient will not be held OOCly for the specific IC actions given to them, however, Ancients will be if their orders cause problems with the round overall. This means that while a Blooded may be told to kill a specific target, what they do to get to the target is still their own actions unless addressed overwise by an Ancient. Ancients are able to handle Honor Code breaks ICly, however, disciplinary action via OOC punishments for the player breaking the rules can still occur. Ancients are not forbidden from starting their own hunts but priority should always be placed in overseeing the training of Blooded Yautja. Councillors may play as Blooded at their discretion. They may also request the removal of their ancient status, and it is up to the Predator Whitelist Leader to grant this request and allow them to play as a normal clanned player.

    As of April 5th, 2020, there is a new Yautja Honor Code. The old Honor code (seen at the start of this thread) is no longer valid.

    Amendments to the 2020 Yautja Honor Code

    04-06-2020
    - If the spec scout attacks you while cloaked they are then dishonourable prey. However, if they attack you while uncloaked they are worthy, however if at any point they cloak and attack you they are dishonorable(Reason for this is that the scout spec is practically invisible at the moment. Devs are apparently looking into fixing this)


    05-07-2020
    - Harpoons are now dishonorable only weapons. A recent merge has buffed them to be OP. This was not intended and the dev team has already been notified. This is a temporary amendment and the plan is to have them go back to worthy status once a fix is in.

    Updated honor code to include the new ruling on planetside gear holders

    Also added this new clause for dishonorable prey:"Once a dishonorable prey has been dealt with, whether it be by them being killed or no longer committing the offense that made them dishonorable, they are to be considered worthy once again"
