    Bruh...

    I miss Percieval.

He and one other Synth are the only synths that actually ask me when I am CIC "Hey what you want me to do?"

Most other synths just go silent deploy and do their thing.

Like I don't really care but I am just tired of this facade of whitelist holders supposedly having to follow a guideline yet no one really follows it because everyone knows people applied for the whitelist for its shiny features (BE and same naming for CPT, all support skills and sturdy snowflake body as Synth).

As it currently stands, whitelist’s should not be as nearly as difficult to obtain as they currently are.

The risk of losing a whitelist is threat enough to cull the dreaded “low RP shenanigans” that people complain so much about, and when it happens, it happens, that’s just part and parcel of playing a space station 13 based game since forever.

Perhaps we need something akin to goonstation’s Ass day, A single day out of the week where you can be as low RP and stupid as you want.

We once had “ General rules day” which worked quite well.

I’m always interested in new roles, they can add so many new experiences to the game, keeping it fresh and avoiding stagnation.

I really think the game needs a space update alongside new space orientated roles.
We’re really overdue for new specialists, weapons, Xeno castes and need to expand upon the laughably pathetic number of Xeno Mutations.

Furthermore, CM stripped a lot of ss13’s features a long time ago, that I know was unnecessary and is actually self-defeating to the fun factor of the game in the end.
Also make attachments cost money, we need to give money value if we want to see an improvement in role-playing and gameplay as a whole.

And if I’m being quite frank if you don’t like the role playing aspects; colonial marines on space station 13 is not a game for you.

I would suggest you go play Fortnite or Call of duty, they’re more your speed.

Endlessly. Synths who act like arrogant assholes too good to take orders.

Synths who struggle to fix things. Time playing does not equal game skill. Be prepared to have your "synth csnt do surgey" tells responded to with "icc issue, let them learn".

The fact of the matter is that anyone CAN be synth if they want to.. they just have to fill out a not difficult app, and write a story. There isnt even a time limit.

You are basically saying that we dont need whitelists anymore because people don't want to bother spending an hour or so to fill something out?

Also if you are bitching about synth combat now... just wait until the role is dewhitelisted. Half of you in here count synth combat as just standing in the way.

P.S. Its dumb to simultaneously say that rp doesnt really matter but synths cant be on the frontline cause "synths are supposed to be passive helpers!"

PPS. Read some of the rejected apps for people who THOUGHT they were good enough to play synth by their own standards. All of those people will be playing synth now.
How shitty story says more about the player than multiple hours in certain roles and good note history?

I have glared trough recent DENIED synth apps and here are some quotes why they were denied:

"This story is not enough. You gotta show the quirk in action, how your synth talks. Just having a description is not enough. superjo worded it nicely."
"... I liked the first part of the story, until it turned into generic USCM synth doing some stuff on the ship..." Followed by "... Now what breaks the deal for me is how you describe your synths actions. Honestly, reading this, I did not get the idea that he's a synth. He's too human. Even the way you describe him act is very humanlike..." - Oh Yeah, Ash for example showed many signs of being Synthetic, or Bishop, from the first minute Ripley know he was a Synth really.
"Story doesn't really show your quirk, and no, it's too late to edit your application with a new story. Try again next time. -1."
"... Unfortunately, this story doesn't show your synth's quirk and how they talk, and is too short for my taste. The quirk is fine but the story needs to show it..."
"Hey. Short story, but well written. Unfortunately, it lacks to show your synths quirk and the quirk itself is pretty weak..."
"You should aim for at least 1k words or maybe less than that, as long as it portrays your synth. You need dialogue from your synth in the story as well as portraying the quirk." - Dear Kane... 1k Words... In school contests you had to write less and they actually were giving prizes.
"I sadly haven't seen you at all ingame, which is a big let down and the fact that no one else has. We need to be able to gauge your competence in support roles..."

And: "So this has been sitting some time. The story and quirk are fine. App in general is fine. I'm always a little worried when no one comes in to vouch for the in game competence, as is the case here. I assume the lack of feedback is also because you're an unfamiliar face, so. What timezone do you play on? How long have you been playing? I'm gonna have to be neutral until someone can vouch for you." - Everyone, huh? Just fill out a not difficult app and write a story. As simple as that, right?
And: "I'm sorry, but I haven't seen you yet ingame in support roles. I'm going with a -1 to end your suffering and then I suggest you really grind support roles up to your next app. Best of lucks." - app guy had over 100 hours of gameplay, just because few Whitelist Council members never saw him, his app was denied.

Bear in mind, that 90% of those quotes comes from WL council members, or from normal Staff.

Whitelist application seems like a real "only bad players proof" indeed. Just write a good story, came up with a good quirk (or copy one from accepted, but be sure to check if it isn't too common, because this also will be bad), play a lot, be known to WL council, good grammar and thats it.
Of course about 100 hours (or more, who knows?) as those support roles (devided between them accordingly) will just let all of those grieffing retards inside.

No, those people with denied apps wouldn't be playing synth now. They would either not grind those hours (probably most of those people don't play CM much now anyway, if not at all), or they would get role ban after one round.

Also you are messing things a bit. Benomains complain about Combat Synths (however those who complain about that just kill synths on sight, no matter what he is doing), those who doesn't complain about Combat Synths complain about poor RP. When you will use that 1k words story in your gameplay? What you will actually be using is that "Quirk" of yours.

MP isn't whitelisted and Admemes somehow dealt with those shitlers who acted like arrogant assholes too good to obey SoP, or Marine Law.

Yes, time playing doesn't equal game skill, but it's a pretty big hint player who played alot of those roles knows a bit. And again, just like you have to know Marine Law as MP and no Admeme will respond "Let him learn" to MP who doesn't know that, they shouldn't respond with that to unwhitelisted Synths.

    Current situation and the problem:

A synth character makes a mistake and violates a guide line.

    1. Player ahelps about it and mod takes it
    2. Mod investigates and determines it happened
    3. Tells player who ahelped they need to file a player report
    4. Player does report
    5. Mod has to pull logs
    6. 500 people have to get their two cents in and post essays worth of stuff
    7. Acutecircle has to talk with other synths and come up with discipline
    8. Bancrose approves or disapproves it

This process can take up to two or three weeks

OR LETS IMAGINE THIS HAPPENS INSTEAD

    1. Mod investigates and determines synth violates a guideline, mod tells synth “hey man you cant do that I’m giving you a warning and just issuing a note”

    10 minutes at the most

We give mods the authority to literally destroy a players career with a permaban, but they can’t tell a pred/synth/CO they violated a rule for their role.

    This needs to change

That's the same issue with staff though.

Don't get me started on Predator, I already called certain devs out on their lies and bullshit in discord, and I could go on a long winded boomer tangent about it.
I understand the sentiment, but I don't think time played == competence in a role. As CO, I have had plenty of XOs who despite being static names are completely useless. The worst Captain WLed player is at least competent enough to be generally relied upon as a Captain, I don't think you can say the same about XOs. BEs are more of a meme than anything, but given the massive sway that Captains can have over a round, I don't think a WL is a bad thing.

Try and pull that off in a complex situation, where circumstances that lasted for 30 minutes lead up to something happening. You can see that sort of thing wont work outside of the most blatant and obvious cases of white list issues. Try and pull that off when it comes to BE's that have reasoning from both sides of an argument that can't be completely refuted, you're going to sit there arguing with people playing in the middle of a game holding them up and admins will expect a rapid answer if they have a lot of work to do. Outside of synths and blatant violations of the white list you'll just achieve nothing at best and at worst we'll just see the unwritten rules and regs shit return in full force which in turn creates more issues later. Enjoy.

As to your step 6. There are already rules around that in the forum, mods just have to enforce it. It's far easier than trying to enforce RP, I just think mods have been rather lazy on the forums outside of when they have been urgently needed and most of that is contained within the reports / appeals section. Also if mods are trying to use the whole "white list issues" shit in the game while a commander / synth / pred is blatantly griefing, then something is wrong and it's not the white listed player or the person filing an Ahelp.

Crying about how much work and shit you have to do and how shit white lists are means nothing in my eye. You chose to do your job and while it's a shit system I agree, I don't see a decent replacement in the works that's not #fuckwhitelists which in turn has people putting forward reasonable arguments to counter it. What can I say at this point, councils went to shit fast, due to staff might I add, but they actively did something positive at first which people could look at and point to. It brought in the community that was trusted with the role of the white list to basically draw up guidelines. The biggest issue is that it takes weeks due to how inefficient you all are at doing the task of deciding if someone did something wrong and your only response to is to remove oversight rather than finding a cleaner and more effective system.

Maybe it's just me but I find that trusting staff to handle everything in ten minutes will only cause more problems than it will solve and I'll be sitting here with my shit eating grin for every moment of it.

I could say synths at least are snow flaky with all having different personalities and such but, honestly the gimmicks never come out typically or are lame. I mean if a company was designing some synthetic humans they just get an AI to make some random personalities based on actual people... which will happen when you have 100 different play synth just like with marines.

Predators should be made event based and used by admins to cause some special mayhem. Maybe they want you to kill all of the red humans(all of alpha), maybe they want you to protect this hive from oblivion(P+X V M), maybe it a general hunt and you just need to find kills... the goal would be event is based on what the admins want to do with the predators and the players get to use the predator gear to achieve said objectives.

COs are just XO+, if COs werent whitelisted XOs would take their place as the HoP in CM, aka the buttmonkey that nobody listens too. So nothing changes. Oh and though COs are usually put together enough to not OB the FOB most are just not great at being command and can not save the marine force if there lives depended on it, come on they are some rando playing a high level officer fighting a hyper mobile alien race what tactics DO you use against them?

Kill whitelists and make them time locked roles. CO= 50-100 Hours of XO, Queen=50 hours of Xeno, Predator=200 hours of CM game time, synth= 20 hours of all support role areas(supply, eng, medical not CMO+doc+researcher, etc) excluding command and policing which be 10 hours each instead.
