Has there ever actually been a concrete standard of what the staff consider LRP/MRP/HRP? I'm guessing not, since it hasn't been brought up at any point in these discussions, from what I have seen.

No because there are times when it’s fine and there are times where it’s over the top. We really can’t make a definition, but it goes from the role.

A 35 year old+ XO wouldn’t act like a 19 year old saying EPIC GAMER MOMENTS BRUG

The lines aren't defined, no. As with most rules they are enforced as interpreted by each staff member (with any needed corrections by higher-ups), so something one staff member might bwoink you for, another might not.

I think some general guidelines would help, nonetheless. Such as what you described above.

As in stuff like

"As a PFC, you have somewhat lax standards for how you can roleplay. Just keep things IC and don't use any OOC knowledge and you won't get in trouble"
And then two examples below it like:
Correct: "Goddamn bro, did you see that xeno's gibs go flying?"
Incorrect: "lmao we fucked that xeno up, my nigga"

There needs to be a line, frankly. I remember when I played MP a while ago and had to arrest a marine for insulting the CO. He had insulted him because the CO was opening presents in briefing and he felt that wasn't something a military Captain should be doing on a military vessel so he insulted him and was marked for arrest.

I could not let him off as the CO's word is law, I have in the past tried faxing regarding the actions of some COs which I felt were a little too memey and was promptly ignored so I essentially gave up and just started letting it flow.

I was working towards applying for a white list for a while now but after seeing some very questionable people get accepted and how they act or "rp" in-game, plus the growing amount of loud people yelling for the server to be LRP and reading through this thread I honestly couldn't give a shit anymore.

Getting a big impression that the head staff/dev team running the server are just throwing darts at a board without any plan at this point.

I think the last few weeks have shown a lot of players who will role play if given half the chance.

Until the devs rework shipside down the road, all the majority care about is this being a 2D natural selection.
