    Most likely because it's considered a 'gun' but hell it'd be funny either way to see it happen, but also kind of dumb if it's abused, which I doubt it because of how terribly bad the flaregun is.

    I maintain my opinion that while the flaregun isn't a *good* weapon, it is a hilarious way to occasionally meme your way through a round while not being completely useless.

    I’ve played lots of rounds and rarely seen marines use a flare gun in a COMBAT ROLE. Tbh, I think you’d be better off with a throwing knifes...

    After some rounds as cargo tech armed with only a flare gun organizing the FOB, I can say that flare guns are reasonably effective versus runners and lurkers. ...mainly because they apparently thought t I shot them with incendiary ammo, and any gun with incendiary ammo is scary and so they run away.
    Not gonna get any kills this way, but it makes them fuck off.

    I find this equaly strong and weak. In one hand you can sometimes convince xenos that there is a Scout or sniper active and get into the hazy " OH GOD OH FUCK BOILER RUN"

    Its flames are weak and shitty and can usualy be went away with one resist but the xenos don't know that for all they know they got hit by A19 incen and need to depart the fuck out cause who wants to check through logs of 2 seconds ago which was dumped with 500 messages.
    Its good for PFC's and maybe more specialized troopers *cough* SG.

    either way the flare gun is good and its weak point is literaly just wasting a pouch or a belt slot at best, since req sends 6 backpacks full of flares down to FOB each and everygame the possibilty of you running out is near 0
