    meTa - Developer Application (Coder)

    Developer Application
    Byond ID?
    meTa001

    Age?
    34

    Gender?
    Male

How would you define yourself? (Coder, Mapper, Spriter):
    Coder

    If Coder, what languages?
Professionally Java, JS, Python, C, *nix tools. Alts are Rust, Go and C#.

Any previous experience developing with SS13?
    None.

Proof of any previous or current work:
https://github.com/bharrisau - pretty bleak in recent years.

How well do you know Git?
Well enough to have opinions on using `git add -p` and `git pull --rebase`

Your primary job is server development, not policing the server. You may be given Moderator-level of access but you should *not* be invoking any administrative actions unless there are no moderators or Admins online. Do you understand?
    Yes

Anything else you'd like to add?
I'd only have a couple of hours to contribute each week. Probably better for code reviews, bug fixes, performance tracing, doc fixes, etc. Based in Perth, UTC+8 timezone. Only started playing this week, after watching the occasional BPL Youtube videos the last couple of months.

    Hi meTa,

Thanks for showing interest, however we follow a stance that CM is not the place to start with DM, and therefore expect applicants to have prior experience. DM has some unusual quirks and SS13 code itself is riddled with large amounts of legacy code that's often confusing and poorly written. We simply don't want to spend time teaching people how to code for SS13. If you still want to develop for us in the future, I suggest you look at other, open source SS13 forks and make contributions there. I personally suggest Baystation12. There's also a 2018 leak of our code that you could play around with.
