Now that i think about it, i think it would be cool if CO could assign some squads to have some bonuses such as : One squad having an extra smartgunner, one squad starting of with more supplies for their engineers and so on, would specialize the squads more im my opinion.

It would be cool if the CIC consistently checked squad make-up early in the round and let that influence their decisions a little. Same result, except not conflicting what is already a thing.

(If you look at the console and it shows bravo having zero engineers, that means it's time to panic.)

So here’s a crazy thought I had: why are specialists automatically assigned to squads? I can’t count how many times the Bravo spec has just F’d off to go to the front lines, permission or not. Maybe they should all start in echo squad, have their own separate specialist prep area, and once CIC sees what’s been picked, they can assign them to squads as they see fit? That would limit some squads as far as squad req vendors go though, like if they don’t have an SL, or their SL gets pulled for something. I dunno, it’s just odd how you can be autopicked for the job you like, but then get dumped in the squad you didn’t want. And the fact that it’s so difficult to get your squad changed...

I guess I'm just lucky, I always get Bravo when I roll spec.

This would also change the 'Spec Meta' of going Bravo/Charlie so you get a shorter walk to prep.

Read this for reason why SGs and specs are in bravo https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/United_S...l_Marine_Corps

Long story short engineers and medics really should be their own squads/ platoons as part of the MAU

You need scout armour and helmet to PUT ON the cloak, once it's on it's fine.
Need SG Armour and smartpack to fire SG

Y’know, that would be an interesting setup. Have all the engineers start in one squad (probably Bravo), and then the four separate fireteams end up being sent to places by the SL, even if 2-3 of the teams are back building and guarding the FOB. If another SL needs fortifications, or engineering done, they can just request on command channel.

Or, conversely, you could start them in echo, or unsquadded, and then have them choose their squad by swiping their tags in a squad assignment turnstile. Command could override if they have to in order to prevent there being unfavorable setups, like there being no engis in Bravo.

But then the question becomes: do you then do the same with medics? With smartgunners and specialists? I don’t see why not. The whole concept of having your squad chosen (seemingly at random) at the beginning of the round (before you even know what you rolled) just seems odd. If you’re a PVT or PFC, you always get the squad you preferred, but if you wanted to be a front-line SG, and you got Bravo SG, then you got the roll you wanted, but didn’t get the role that you wanted. I dunno, maybe something to start a new thread on: Should special roles be auto-delegated to squads before round start?

It would be interesting just for the feedback.

Most times I've been in (or led) bravo, the Spec and SG will want to go to the frontlines, so often i've seen the SL let them go, but just make sure they bring a few marines as babysitters. Bravo is pretty much the only squad that uses fireteams, because so many just want to unga.
