This goes out to all SL's, SO's, XO's, and CPT players.
If you are a command role and hate the current meta, then here is how to reverse everything; if the playing field is completely unfair, you just have to throw away the playing board altogether.
The way to win in the current 4 Rav invinci-hog. 2 jojo CQC stun spam Prae, and 2 past-the-cades Boiler spam meta, you must change the place where you fight them. It is impossible to win planetside against this combo unless xenomorphs are completely, pants on head retarded, and continually run into SADAR rockets (this is unlikely to happen, id say 20% of the time rounds are like this where xenos are this dumb). The other 80% of the time xenos will turn on their invincible hedgehog sprayer mode, sit on your cades, and annihilate both marines and cades because of their stupid bullshit abilities, while the prae's spam crowd control abilities, and boiler spam acid past and onto the cades rendering your defenses useless.
To stop this, you must envoke pressure on the xenos; the only way this is possible is via a shipside battle. You must evac with at least 60 marines (medium pop) or 80 + marines (high pop) in order to win shipside due to stair camping and 2x2 hallways being a viable counter strategy that xenos can employ.
The issue is that even if xenos camp shipside, it doesn't matter; a invisible 20 minute countdown begins the moment they land on Almayer; the round ends after this 20 minutes so xenos and marines alike are pressured to actually push. This is more so for xenos; this is the ONLY time that xenos actually feel like they HAVE to push, as an element out of control ends the round if they don't do anything.
How do you achieve keeping marines alive long enough for a proper evac? Simple. A good CPT can figure out the layout and composition of the enemy by asking the SL's on the ground what they see. To do that, you must not scout at all. Deploy a mega FOB strategy and have all the marines sit at FOB till xenos get bored and attack. Then ask SL's if there is a overwhelming amount of a few types of xenos (ravagers, praes, boilers). If there are, you know xenos aren't retarded this round, so now you wait for xenos to whittle down defenses just enough so you can justify a full evac. This WILL happen quickly as marine defenses are weak as shit in the current MOBA mechanics as developers severely nerfed the MOBA defenses and made it even easier for xenos to break through, so don't worry about xenos managing to break down the defenses.
Then once you full evac, you now have a chance at actually having a decent game with a chance at winning.
TL;DR
- Current meta has made xenomorphs literally have a god mode button and ability to obliterate defenses rapidly.
- To stop this, you have to force xenos into a shipside battle with at least 60 marines left alive (med pop) or 80 + marines (high pop).
- To do this, create a mega FOB and wait the xenos out. Do not worry about stragglers running out and getting themselves killed; this happens every round no matter how well known or competent of a XO / CPT you are.
- Once xenos start pounding on your defenses, ask SL's or knowledgeable marines on the planet what the composition of the xenos is. If it is primarily filled with meta castes such as Ravager and Prae, prepare your planetary evac message in advance and keep up to date on flanks and how many cade lines are still left. If only one or two cade lines are left, full evac off the planet.
- Enjoy the fruits of your labor as xenos are forced into a timelocked 20 minute fight where you, the marines, actually get to have some fun fighting a semi-fair fight.
