    LV-WO event, Feedback Thread

    Hello people, i am readdy to recieve feedback about the LV-WO event. Please just don't complain about the lag, i know about it and there is nothing i can do since byond is a piece of marvelous crap shit fucked code engine.

    I enjoyed it besides the lag there is one thing the ai ravs acted like damage wasnt a thing

    I was trapped out by the pop cap and I just though that was really annoying.

    The ravs health pool was strange where one would take like 13 shots then another would take 13000 shots to kill

    It was fun as the mortar operator, too bad 90% of the spotters died and the 10% decided to grief requesting mortar shells at cade lines.

    Overall, very fun Hunk.

    Nah seriously, I'm surprised it even worked at all, and it turned out far better than I thought it would. The lag was always gonna be a problem, even with the timelocks and other measures, its just a fact of BYOND. Coulda used a little more direction for marines though, as it stands they were just kinda told to go down the ladder and figure it out.

    The population cap was intentional, if players were already complaining about 180 players, imagine 230 players.

    The Byond code itself cannot handle this.

    i think there was too much micromanagement on blocking/unblocking areas

    it would've been better to just not have any walls spawn back and forth, just tell the marines not to go past river/defend if they did then spawn NPC ravs right on them, then xenos could naturally flank to their sides

    hopefully find some way to remove death timer/join timers

    it was alright

    This was my story in the round:
    - Start as CMO
    - Frantically grab stuff then deploy down the ladder
    - Medical machines don't work, medical doors don't work (Got fixed though, yay)
    - All medics are waiting on one chemmaster for IA, as well as OTs
    - Medbay gets set up with 4 autodocs, marines set up defenses in it kinda too.
    - Doctors run around grabbing people if they go down, one medic gets mad about this and kills a doctor
    - Doctor is then decapitated by said medic
    - Another doctor then goes on a revenge quest
    - Me and a few remaining docs are attempting to tend medbay
    - Ravs breach medbay 2 or 3 times, get beat back though
    - All the while a huge pile of SSD people who couldn't join due to poplock is growing in medbay
    - Go to revive a person with huge damage
    - Server crash

    All in all a nice round, not enough OBs though
