    Marine Law, IC or OOC?

OOCly no one really gives a shit if you trespass into an area to get into a camera console/autolathe or steal items that no one are using anyway, same deal with brawling on the dropship since punches and knife slashes barely does a thing to anyone wearing armor, and any damage can just be healed with the nanomeds save for bone breaks (which are hard to do with just punches).

So why the hell do staff treat marine law breaks as if it's OOC, make it out as "LRP"? The game is already pretty much a TDM, all this RP thing is practically a facade as actually playing the game and RPing just does not mesh well with each other.

Also, stabbing yourself with a knife right next to a nanomed while injecting yourself with drugs is "LRP" apparently despite doing ZERO permanent damage, keep in mind that ICly this is the year 2190 and with nanomeds being actual objects on the game, infinite amount of drugs do exists.

The only people who care about marine law are MP players, but they don't count as people anyway. It doesn't add anything to the game.

It's hard to take this seriously if you think stabbing yourself for fun is not LRP

You're not supposed to take CM seriously. It's based on an 80s action movie which, while it did have a serious atmosphere at times, was still an action movie with fun and cliche characters who had very little regard for their own lives or safety. Bishop does the knife trick in Aliens for a reason, and he still manages to nick himself with the knife.

Becuase people are too stupid, you allow them to dick around and do whatever it devolves into retards shotgun blasting anyone that looks at them funny. Got to keep the monkeys on a leash.

They would have to actually know marine law to care about it. So no, not even that.

Most of them just play as regular SS13 Redcoats-HarmBaton-for-breaking-a-window.

Just today a CMP (who is also a staff member) arrested a CO for giving briefing in the conference room... even though it explicitly says that there's nothing wrong with giving briefing in any area besides the hangar or the dropship.

Is there more context to that?
