Name of the Synth Character you wish to play Tara
Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines? Yes
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example. Scenarios in which I can perform combat should be limited to self-defense or defense of others, such as to save another marine, or if your own self is in danger of being damaged or destroyed by a threat. Combat should never be performed offensively and can’t be done using anything more than a melee weapon, such as a knife, machete, or an axe.
Synthetic Character Story
What is your Synths quirk and personality? Tara has a very playful and upbeat personality, often laughing at Marines’ jokes. She stretches out words occasionally as well, with a dialog like “There you gooo!” being a prime example.
She also has developed an obsession with humans, almost finding them extremely cute, similar to how humans view pets like cats and dogs while not viewing them in a condescending manner. While she tries her best to control herself, she sometimes can even squeal if she witnesses a human helping another in what she describes as “a true bond of friendship!”. She denies any allegations of sounding like a cartoon character when saying things like this.
Because of this trait, she often displays extreme distress if a human in her view is badly injured or killed, and will try to treat, help or rescue casualties as much as she is allowed to. She can be seen sometimes crying when witnessing large masses of bodies and prefers them to be concealed in body bags whenever possible.
These displays, of course, aren’t actually real -- being a synth, her projected emotions don’t compromise her ability to work or her judgement. She can do the same quality of tasks while laughing as she can while crying.
Human culture has also fascinated her -- she took a liking to creative and performing arts in particular and longs to get her hands on a musical instrument someday. She has often said her favorite instrument is the violin.
How familiar are you with Engineering? While I haven’t played as much of Ordnance Technician as others, I have extensively played Squad Engineer (as well as playing engineer roles in other SS13 servers) and know how to construct barricades, repair APCs, setup telecommunications, restore power to a colony, load OBs, and am capable of creating basic explosives if the need arises, though I am no expert in doing the lattermost.
How familiar are you with Command? As a whitelisted CO and a regular player of Staff Officer and Squad Leader, I believe myself to be highly familiar with the duties of command. I can perform detailed overwatch, coordinate supply drops and OBs, formulate tactical plans such as pushes, flanks or retreats, and conduct briefings. I can also lead an individual squad and am capable of directing certain squad members to take up certain positions, do specific tasks, or order pushes and retreats. I communicate regularly while in a command position and try to make sure I’m understood.
How familiar are you with Medical? I am very familiar with the prospect of medical. I’ve played many rounds as a Squad Medic or Doctor/CMO and am familiar with many aspects of chemistry, treatment, triage, and surgery. I can repair broken bones in under 40 seconds, efficiently use the autodoc, know every surgery treatment procedure, know how to properly process a patient in medbay, fix and treat broken hearts and infections, operate the sleeper, and know the recipes for most essential medicines and medicinal cocktails employed by medics and marines.
While I’m not as familiar with research, I can do basic duties such as chemical analysis and synthesis, hydroponics, and creating Xenos in containment.
How familiar are you with Requisitions? I’ve played multiple rounds of CT and RO and know most of what there is to know about operating requisitions. I know all the abbreviations and shorthand for attachments and items that are vended at the requisitions line, can order supplies and ammunition for marines on the ground, coordinate with ground and CIC for squad-based supply drops, listen to and communicate supply coordinates, and know to never open an OB crate in the req room itself.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you? I want to contribute to support in the round in more ways than just a singular role at a time, such as the case when playing roles like Doctor, OT/engineer, or CT, where time spent not performing your work, either because of no demand or no resources, is wasted. As a synthetic, I hope to maximize the use of my time by filling in wherever someone is needed and not always just lounging around, waiting for something to happen. By being whitelisted I hope to do just this and support the marines to a much higher extent than a single role.
