I don’t think it is. As RNGPriest says, the entire Xeno siege capability hinges on having boilers who know what they’re doing. Outside of surprise flanks, but you can only really do surprise flanks during lowpop.
Which means that most sisters of the hive, especially T1s who can’t evo while the Queen is working on the FOB, are standing around with their ovipositor in their hand waiting to get gibbed by CAS, OB or mortars. Because Sentries are everywhere and just melt anything that gets near the cades and isn’t a T3 even while the gas clouds are up.
Sure, the outcome is relatively open (on account of bald boilers or successfully/failed marine flanks), but it still isn’t really all that engaging for most of the hive.
