    marines just suddenly dying

so what is up with this? is it a mechanic that exists? or is it just some BS marines players can do to deny us captures?

is there anyway that it can be taking away from them? its completly unfair whenever we get a good capture that the marines can just up and DIE on us outside of a crit state with green health.

No, they can't suddently die outside of crit with green health.

99.99% of cases where marine dies when he is captured is a direct result of murderboing benos who slash too much.
Its never green health, its always softcrit with a lot of bleeding wounds and broken bones that damage organs when you drag them around. Less blood means oxy damage, oxy damage builds up, hits overall 200 and marine dies.

Sadly alot of Xeno players are under the impression that putting a marine into softcrit is a reliable way to Capture them.

For the reasons and more that Cabal explained, that isn't the case. Xenos have their hands held with permanest as that stabilizes dying Marines, but past a certain amount of oxygen damage, that doesn't matter.

So you get a lot of people that go in hard on attacking and just assume the nest will keep them alive. Essentially denying you a capture, because they could not exercise restraint.

This is the real secret to why captures die when it seems like they weren't slashed too much. Some xenos will drag a capture halfway across the map because they don't know how to devour, and all those broken bones inside will shred them up.

i mean, let's be honest, if you were to not softcrit at times the only thing you get instead of a cap is an unga inside your base that just doesn't know when to surrender or you get killed with a knife from the inside. i think that is one of the mayor issues with Xenos they die far easier once on the ground than marines do or let's say that once you are on the ground there is nothing you can do to resist but hope they don't kill you instead marines will, even with a lot of damage, stand up and start shooting you to dead with a shotgun.

Pro tip: ALWAYS devour marines and tacklespam them with the other hand, dont worry about getting stomach slashed that shit does piss poor damage. Keep in mind you'll auto regurgitate the marine if you keep them in the stomach for too long so dont fuck around and go straight back to the hive.

Yeah a lot of attacks by xenos are designed to cause shrap damage or break bones, which means if you get them stunned and away from the main force, devour them and haul ass to the hive ASAP.
