    New specialist Ideas

    Didn't see a thread for talking about ideas for new specialists you would like to see.

    I was thinking about how gasmasks suck and neuro sucks and I came up with an idea for a specialist that is kinda like some form of a hasmat soldier. IDK what the real life equivalent would be. He should be a specialist that is trained in fighting hazardous chemicals/radiation/stuff like that. So basically the idea is his armor wouldn't be affected by acid/neuro/gas stuff like that. So he could be the guy that charges through boiler gas clouds, doesn't get stunned by spitters, stuff like that. Not sure what kind of weaponry he could have but he would be super good at fob defense on an m56 while boilers are seiging. Anyone think this could be cool? Maybe he could even be a specialist engineer that gets cool engineering stuff that no one else does instead of being a pure combat character.

    I would say that his weapon should be a DMR like Scout's, but more fit for close range combat

    His armor could be an armored Hazmat suit (like the one we have for CMO/research/engineering), with high resistance to acid spit/gas and near immunity to neuro spit/gas. But armor value vs slash and armor slowdown should be the same as M3. And like Squids' armor, he should get dunked on by fire.

    He should also get a special gas mask that doesn't block his vision, and looks cool as hell.

    Nah, rather than specs I would rather see more gimmick items that are usable by every roles.

    Things like motion detector, flamers if you're a PFC, x-ray vision against benos, some rare short sighted NVGs, mesons that actually lets you see tiles like any other server.

    Totally vouching for the hazmat spec but for the love of god. Give them some chemical weaponery to fight off other humans and to remove weed or mix up with fire.

    C&C chemical/tiberium trooper like and I'm all in.
    There was thread on the old forum and I will add what I was proposing before:
    Laser spec.
    Just give him experimental laser that can shoot trough multiple benos/humans in a line. Laser is cool as hell and it would be also neat crowd control. Give him near ultimate AP stats for laser beam and we then have something to fight armoured and explosive/fire resistant threats. Viable competition to SADAR. Even a bit counterplay for boilers hiding behind other benos and spamming without changing position.
    It's good lorewise since we have dropship laser.

    Make grenade launcher it's own specialist. Give B18 a 12-shot drum-mag shotgun, that fits it's role as a close-quarters specialist more.

    what about a medical spec with all kinds of boosters and injectors to aid their squad mates, a winch to retrieve downed marines, and a combat syringe gun that can affect beanos and can be filled with healing juice for teammates? if done right they could buff an entire squad making a push through boiler gas easier

    I like the idea of a hazmat spec with a dmr, but I like this even more. A grenade launcher wouldn't be the worst idea for a hazmat spec, either. Kinda makes sense for the marines to have, what with tear gas and such.
