    Good M41A and shotgun build?

Anyone knows a good meta M41A build or shotgun slug build? Please share.

Well, it may not be meta, but the default UGL can be pretty good. IF you can land the nades properly. For example, nading carelessly resting or burning xenos to prevent others from dragging them away.

If you get an OT that actually knows how to make napalm WITHOUT it immediately exploding you can get really good fire nades. OT nades can have a 2 second timer, which lets you land them more reliably, and the fire stat caps on M15s and M40s are identical, so you aren't losing anything by not using the former. The only problem is that making a good HE M40 is literally impossible.

I do have a question of my own though: did anyone here get to try the UGL equipped shotgun with slugs? Slugging a xeno and then nading it would be a fun strategy.

    Shotgun Slug Build:
-Note: Slugs are not very efficient in killing xenos on their own, especially the higher tier castes. However, the small stun does have a psychological effect on xeno players and increases the opportunity for fellow marines to get the kill. You have only a few shots, so ensuring they land is a priority in my attachment build.

    Attachments
-Stock: M37 Wooden Stock [Controversial since this reduces your movement speed while wielded and increase the delay between putting in-hand and wielding, but it gives a respectable boost to the accuracy (% chance of hitting a mob on a tile the slug passes through).]
-Underbarrel: Angled Grip [Provides a small boost to your accuracy, but more importantly mitigates the wield delay of your shotgun.]
-Barrel: Bayonet/Nothing [Most attachments reduce your already low damage, the bayonet only slightly reduces your accuracy (eliminated by your other attachments) and provides significant utility by boosting your melee damage (useful for breaking weed nodes and resin structures) and allowing you to pry open unpowered airlocks.]
-Rail: Magharness/rail light [The magharness is a superb quality-of-life/insurance attachment. You will never be without your weapon short of being stripped of your armor. Niche synergy with bayonet as you will be able to stab the guts of a xeno that vored you, or otherwise smack a xeno that keep knocking you down. Rail light is always a good attachment since more light = greater effective range of your slugs.]

    Strongly Recommended Equipment
-Shotgun Shell Load Rig: You will burn through slugs very quickly, don't skim on the ammo belt.
-A Secondary Weapon: Slugs are inefficient and require a lot of time to reload. Xenos know this and WILL exploit it (baiting out shots). Have a buckshot loaded shotgun on your back (put a rail light on it so you can have your magharness AND increased your light radius) to serve as an emergency backup/deterrence.

This is only my personal opinion based on personal experiences. Other people will have their own (strongly worded) opinions, and your own mileage will vary.

No attachements/loadout will make the slug shotgun good. The best you can do for it to not be the worst is to get bayonet, rail light, stock and a-grip. You will still miss slugs, they will still scatter, they will still suck at dealing damage, they will still be bugged with inconsistent stun/daze timers, they will still be bugged with inconsistent effects on unstunnable benos, but atleast you can stab them for about the same damage the slug does on its own.

All the attachements that reduce, or increase damage doesn't really matter, its barerly few points, like -5, or +5 at best and it literally has no effect on slug as it already has pathetic damage and slow rate of fire and low accuracy and high scatter.
If you really want to be the one sucker who slugs and does nothing, scrap the bayonet for recoil compensator to reduce scatter and increase accuracy.

No need for extra shotgun, just keep two handfulls of buckshot in your armor, shoot at beno once, or twice, if it tries to abuse the fact that you use pathetic, worthless slug, you can then load shell, or two of buckshot for instant suprise.

No need for magharness, rail light is far more important and shotguns already lie everywhere, so losing the gun isn't that much of a pain. If you lose it anyway, it most likely mean that beno shortened the distance enough for slug to doesn't matter at all.

There is literally no other attachement combo for pathetic slug, because anything else would just make it worse than the gun without attachements.

all of the posts above is rambling and wont get you giga beast frags. Use this king:

M41 bfa bc reflex stock (stock is personal preference some dont use it) also make sure to always keep AP on the m41

shotgun mag harness agrip bayo (some use flashlight grip too) use buckshot 24/7, nothing else

if the m41 bc bfa is too hard to use:

M41 agrip qfa (with ap aswell)

there u go stay strong king

What you really want is to dualwield M41A2s with QFA, BC, and BFA. AP of course.

The way i prefer to use slugs is to use them with the HG-37 or MOU.
the normal shotgun, the m-37, dont have the rate of fire to make anything happen with slugs. its just too slow.

Hg-37 with red dot sight and RC will ensure you to hit evry shot, with a faster rate of fire, therefor ALMOST permastun a xeno (it used to permastun before the slug stun nerf.)
-Allow you to stun for .7 sec 10x if you aim good.

MOU with red dot sight, stock and ag for exemple, will allow you to shoot 3 slugs witout any delay.
-Allow you or your battle buddy to close the distance to point-blank your semi-stunned target with buckshot.

For the M-41, i sugest you go ''qfa ag'' on single shot. its a classic and a pretty good all around weapon.

P.S.: watever your loadout is, you should have a backup weapon, wich optimaly is a mag harness/bayo/underbarrel flashlight M-37 loaded with buckshot.
a tube full of shell and 2 hand full of shell in your helmet will be enough ammo for most rounds if you use it as a backup weapon.

You think it's good if I add BC and stock to your QF M4A1 build?

BC will slow your rate of fire, working against the qfa, and if you use single shot with qfa/ag you allready have perfect aim so you dont need the stock wich would only slow you down. stock is good if you go for less accurate loadout like BC BFA for exemple, then i would recommend the stock.
