Nice on you, knowing exactly what you did wrong. It's always a learning experience, and I personally find XOs who are able to acknowledge their faults to be exceptional.I did not watch squad cameras despite lacking Lieutenants so my situational intel was a game of telephone. A poorly coordinated OB lead to bad hits and we were on the retreat, myself unable to give concise or timely orders, leading to captures and flanks. Eventually, after being pushed to the FOB I had called evac. I did not set the AA and on the Almayer defense we were destroyed.
As the saying goes, "The first step in solving any problem is recognizing there is one."
And, since I've seen you as my XO on multiple rounds recently and have even given you a medal for your actions, there's no reason for me to not give you the chance to become a CO now.
