Lightbulb CM-SS13 tips and lesser-known features

There was a post like this in the old forum and I found it really helpful, so just post any lesser known features that people should make use of or some tips that you should know. Here's some from me:

-You can hold a throwing knife/goggles in your mouth slot

-A facehugger can act like a very effective gas mask and protect a host from dying in gas as long as it's on

-Small objects can be stored in your helmet

-The ASRS system in req can be hacked just like requisitions consoles in regular CM

-The lethal injections in the brig are filled with quickclot

-Using a screwdriver on a door will make it impossible to pry open for xenos, similar to welding

-If you're standing next to an intercom you can use :i to talk to it without having to click it

    Other things to add:

Peri can be used on patients with a ruptured lung to allow anesthetic gas to work on them.

Sidearm holster belts (for the all pistols and revolvers) can be equipped in your suit storage slot.

The intercoms in the Hangar control bubble link to Normandy (left) and Alamo (right). Due to how intercoms work, these can communicate with their respective dropships even if comms are down planetside, if memory serves.

    - the bible holds seven items, takes up 1 space in your backpack and can hold tools, c4, grenades, pretty much any small object
    - the medical toolbelts (not the lifesaver bags) hold pistol and shotgun ammo, defib, roller beds, etc. It can hold 20 more shells than the shotgun ammo rig with the added benefit of holding onto your splints and medical supplies as well.
    - the fireaxe works as a crowbar for prying open doors
    - Helmets can store autoinjectors

Medical flasks can be stored in the helmet. While you can ask a doctor to fill them, a good trick is to just put 5 u of any liquid (get a cup -> right-click/go to 'Object' tab -> Set Transfer Amount -> 5) and then use pills or chem bottles from the medkits to fill your flask. Alternatively, wait for someone to hack a WeyYu med planetside

You can shoot over vendors and also move them around with a wrench as any role. Vendors also block movement. In fact, many machines also block movement and can be shot over, so a crafty engineer can

Airlocks, when bolted/welded, are literally walls. Any engineer can deconstruct an airlock (except the two-tile ones) to their frame and move it and then reassemble it. However, squad engineers are unable to make airlocks from scratch even though it is an option in their vendors.

Bica OD fixed IB, albeit very slowly and it requires that you understand how to counter the OD effect.

If someone has a broken chest/groin/head and they walk/run while unsplinted, you will incur organ damage. Same applies if you are buckled to an office chair and moved (note how your character's sprite is standing while buckled to an office chair). If possible, get them to rest and transport them by foot or with a roller bed.

If you grab someone while going up a ladder, they go up with you. This applies to humans and xenos, but if that other person is grabbing someone, they are left behind. Max of two people can go up a ladder simultaneously.

Pushing someone while they are moving in the same direction as you while you are both not on help intent will significantly boost the speed of the person you are pushing. This is helpful for wounded who are splinted or humans/xenos who are dragging crit people/captures around.

If you want to run around naked, you need a minimum of shoes because walking around barefoot incurs a slowdown.

    Barcaradine bars have some tramadol.

You can use a wrench on showers to make them damage inflicting hot or cold, and I believe they can even function as ghetto cryo tubes lowering your temperature to where cryo fluid is effective.

You can light a cigar/cigarette on a burning corpse.

You can drag an object around without having to move by simply clicking on a tiles near you and the object in question (which can be useful when you are trying to drag a sentry around into your small defensive square without having to leave the safety of your barricades)

Two people working on a project is faster than one. If you know the steps to building a sentry, try working together with a fellow engineer to rapidly set it up and spend less time fiddling around with your toolbelt. Same goes with the MG.

you can convert a stack of 4 rods into a metal sheet by using a lit wielder on them

A motion Scanner can fit on your belt slot and still allow you to detect movement without having to use up a hand slot.

The Lockdown button on the dropships first closes all the hatches, then bolts them. Toggling the hatches manually bolts them whether they are closed or not.

Right-clicking your lifesaver belt and selecting "Toggle belt mode" lets you draw pills directly from the bottle.

You can hack the middle squad engineer vending machine for a super battery cell!

As a Ravager/Crusher, flipping over tables and walking over them deletes them.

As a Runner/Lurker/Ravager, hit a fence twice, then pounce at it to destroy it semi-instantly.

Setting a xenomorph on fire kills the facehuggers in their hands.

If a xenomorph bumps into an electrified grille/airlock, they get stunned.

Every defib attempt heals brute/burn damage.

The closer you are as a Praetorian to your target, the harder your lethal acid hits.

Every xenomorph can delimb/decapitate, even drones.

    Medibots don't OD anymore but they stop working after a few minutes. ;-;
